I am pretty new to the forum, just got engaged in May. My question, would you bring/wear your engagement ring to Rome or Greece?

I never do anything without my e-ring and the promise ring FH gave me except shower, sleep, or swim as well. Also if I am doing something that might scratch the ring band.

I vacationed in Greece last summer, right after I got engaged. I bought my engagement ring with me but I did not wear it out.

I got engaged on a cruise, so even when we got off for excursions on the islands i took it with me, there was no way i was gonna leave it in the room...But even after when we went on other vacations i brought it with me and will also do so for the honeymoon

I am def not. It's more so the meaning behind it than the insurance to replace it. It would never be the same if it was lost, stolen or anything. Not taking a chance... I am however going to Mexico... if I was staying in the states I would take, but outside US prob not. I think it depends on what your doing too. It's not good to swim w it HTH

I'm not taking my e-ring or wedding band on my honeymoon. I'd just be too preoccupied about losing it, I don't want anything to worry about on my honeymoon.

heck yeah i would! i just never understood the whole 'ooo, i'm so worried about bringing my e-ring/wedding band on HM' i LOVE my band and e-ring together, and i wear it everywhere i go, cause i'm proud to show it off..no fear of losing it or getting it stolen.

Yes: but to those places only. And only if it were tight. I would be more worried about places more 'third world'.
I've felt sick to my stomach when I thought I lost it & when I go to 'ify' places: I hide it at home. I won't take my ering to the honeymoon, but probably will take the wedding band.
A story: I just came back from vacation with a friend & her husband. We were playing a good game of volleyball for a few hrs & her husband hit the ball & felt his ring fly off (fortunately, it was a 'manicured' beach-volley ball court with just 1-2 inches of sand. Well: when you drop a ring in sand: it disappears completely without needing to be pushed under, etc. Took us 3 hrs to find it. It would have been lost for good if it was a beach. We divided up the sand in quandrants & did a dig: archeology style. Needless to say, we hid all our rings for the rest of the vacation.

What kind of hotels are you staying in? Most decent hotels have safes in the room, so if you're going down to the pool, you can lock it up. I brought a bunch of jewelry to Sandals because I knew there was a safe. Yeah, they're not like being in a safe-deposit box, but they're pretty secure.

^^ Most safes in those places you make your own combination, so they're very safe anyway.
