Engraving

So I went to Things Remembered at Queens Center Mall to see how much it would be to have my toasting flutes and cake cutting set engraved and the woman told me for the Lenox True Love collection I have, $21 per piece up to 5 lines. So I asked '$21 for each flute?? And $21 for knife..$21 for cake server' and she said yes!!

Both sets were only 29.99 at BBB and were gifted to me at my bridal shower. I would end up paying more for engraving than what it is worth. Unbelievable.

Do you have any other places you recommend for engraving?

I had our knive and cake server there and it was ridiculously expensive (FMIL paid), but don't let them talk you into extra lines of engraving past your names and the date. You really don't need any flourishes or pictures or anything even though they say that 'everyone' gets that. Also, when I got both the knife and server back, I kinda thought.. hmm did I really need to have BOTH of these engraved? So maybe just do one?

The only other place I could think of to do engraving might be a place that makes trophies.

There's a kiosk in Queens Center that does engraving....I think its in the older section of the mall. I have no idea what the prices are like but it's been there forever.

That's outrageous for engraving, there is no way I'd pay $21 per piece, though I agree with islandbride, you could probably get away with either the server OR the knife, unless you really have your heart set on both.

Tri County flea market in Levittown has a booth that had an engraver. I'm sure they are still there

I used to get all my engravings at Attia's and it was so cheap, all of the jewelry booths did engraving. I'm sure Tri-County will be similar.
