Entirely Inappropriate Question to Ask...

Original post by jannshari

I know it is incredibly tacky to ask a question like this, but I'm having a panic attack here because there is no way to shrink our list down any further without cutting out over 100 people (and our list is at 173 at this point) and I'm just not finding any places that we can afford. The one place that I really wanted to go with so far has basically said that the price they quoted me for a Sunday day wedding in October is the lowest they'll go all year (which I find hard to believe, but if that's what they're saying, how can I argue it?), so I went back to the drawing board and came up with NOTHING. And I've researched a lot of places (via various web sites) that are within my price range, but I'm not sure whether the prices given were accurate or what they included.

So here is my entirely inappropriate question, and please feel free to tell me that it's none of my business, but has anyone had a Sunday day wedding that wasn't noticably lacking in anything for approximately $50 pp? If so, where? I know that's an incredibly low number, but our budget is very tight and I would like to try to stay as close to it as possible.

I'm looking primarily in Nassau County, but would consider parts of Suffolk. Thanks in advance!

Check huntington townhouse. I saw on their site that they start at $29 per person.

The Meadow Club In port Jeff Station does a great brunch, starting at $27/pp!!!!
It's a really nice place!

Try looking into a buffet dinner instead of a sit down. This should be less expensive. I'd also consider just a coctail party instead of a dinner. I went to a wedding once where it was like a 3 or 4 hour coctail hour. I thought I'd be going home hungry but I didn't & everyone had a great time.

BTW.. not tacky, it is what we are here for. You can most likely bargain a bit more for a friday night or sunday afternoon, if you can do it.

Try Crescent Beach Club, a friend got married there in an off season and saved a bundle! And the food & service were great!

I booked the Harbor Club off-season & on a friday & saved a bundle as well.
