Carol- When Bob and I went to the USPO to get our passports, part of the cost for them paid for priority mail for the passport to be mailed to you. So, you don't need to worry about a padded envelope. Just write a note now to attach to the passport saying that you want your old one returned to you for memory reasons, and when you get your new passport, your marriage license, old passport and new passport will all be in the same priority envelope,
I'm doing mine this week too, I'm just using a regular manila envelope, sending certified
I will be using a manila envelope to send it & will be sending it certified! I hope to do it this week!
I have to send mine in also, but I'm nervous about sending the original wedding license. Did you get a second one just to send?
I don't think you need a padded envelope...when I sent in mine to be renewed before the wedding I didn't read the instructions and totally just sent it in a regular old white envelope and had no problems...I'm not going to do that again for my name change but it makes me think that it's certainly not a necessity
What is the form for changing your name? Can you get it online?
