You do not need both, they are interchangeable. Place cards go at specific seats once the seating chart has directed guests to their table if you want assigned seating.

Seating chart just tells people where they sit with all the guests on one poster board. Escort cards each person has their own with the table number on it. It's either or but no need for both. I think if you're venue had a nice place to set up the cards do them but if there's so designated spot for then then do the seating chart.

It's either/or. We went the cards because I didn't want a line of people waiting to see what seat they are at.

Well see I have the escort cards the place gave us they're not cute they're just plain and idk if I feel like doing another craft haha I'm over the crafts st this poimt in the game

I found a former LIW Bride in Massapequa that does paper good and she gave me a great price to do my escort cards. I used her for escort cards, an I spy game for the table, favor tags, instagram sign, and signature drink sign. She's charging me less than half of what my invite girl would have. Check her out on Facebook, instagram, or etsy The Little Shoppe of Paper.

My co-worker uses her all the time for items for her daughters birthdays. They both met on LIW years ago when they were both getting married. Her work is FANTASTIC! She can customize orders and they are professionally done. I highly recommend her. She is also on instagram. I don't know her name, tho.

So I learned on David Tutera that escort cards escort guests to their table and seating cards tell them which seat is there's. I think once they get to the table they can handle it from there lol But a seating chart would replace escort cards so it is essentially the same purpose and it's all preference. :)
