etiquette for checks???

We got a few NO's already, not one of them sent witha gift/check etc..

I cashed the checks that I got with the response cards because it can totally screw up people's checking!

Now here's the thing-do I send a thank you card now or do I wait until I have the official wedding thank you cards after the wedding.

Same here - we got about 20 no's so far and not one penny with them
