What is the proper thing to do? We rec'd a 'NO' rsvp but they put in a check! Do we cash now and thank or wait till after the wedding and then send a thank you?

I agree, you could send the thank you now, I hate it when I write a check and someone doesn't cash it right away.
I agree. Cash it now..I also hate when people take forever to cash a check I write. and def. write them a thank you now.
ETA: Then just put the money aside for the wedding or to use after the wedding

Re: Etiquette Question-RSVP NO, but sent check
Proper Etiquette=Send a THANK YOU as soon as possible.
For gifts received more than a month before the wedding date, thank yous should be sent within two weeks upon receipt, regardless of whether or not they are attending the wedding. If they are not attending the wedding, send the thank you on your wedding thank you stationery.
If they are attending the wedding and send you a gift more than a month before the wedding date, send on another stationery. After the wedding, send them a second thank you on your wedding stationery thanking them for sharing your day.
For gifts sent a month before the wedding or after, you technically have a year, but you really should send within 3 months.

I would assume so...being that you dont have the professional cards yet you would have to send a regular thank you card, and I guess if you want you can send them a nice professional one after your wedding...if you want.

I would send it now, and maybe after the wedding you can send them a picture of the both of you.

I found pretty thank you cards (a pack of 8 I think) at the dollar store! I used these to send out my early thank yous.
And yes, I did cash those checks the same day I sent out thank you cards!

Let me ask - is the check dated for today or the date of your wedding? If it's dated for today, send a thank you, wait a week or so, and then cash the check! If it's dated for the date of your wedding - then I guess you have to wait.
Most people (I think) hope that you will cash it when they send it. I hate it when people wait weeks and weeks to cash my checks.
