So, I purchased my bridesmaids personalized hangers on Etsy in March. I wanted to get gifts out of the way early so it wasn't so much money at once. I ordered them from a shop that other girls on here had ordered from and recommended.
At the time when I ordered the shop's policies stated that production time was 7 weeks. Ok, that's fine, my wedding isn't until October. They said that you should put in the 'Notes to Seller' the date that you need them by. I put 7/1/14 just to be safe.
Weeeellll, it's July 7th, and not only do I not have the hangers, I contacted the shop twice and have received the same automatic reply that they're not taking new orders. And the shop is completely gone from Etsy. I also can't report a problem with the order to Etsy because it's passed the time frame to do so. I had no idea that there was a time limit. I found out how to email Etsy anyway, and hopefully there's something that can be done, but I think it's also passed the time I can try and get my money back with PayPal. I HATE this feeling of there's nothing I can do but accept that I'm out $50 and have nothing to show for it. Because ultimately, I'll have to spend it again because I do want to get them the hangers. I'm SO MAD.
**UPDATE 7/8/14** So, while I was on PayPal yesterday I saw the sellers actual email address that my payment went to, so I figured it was my last resort to email her directly instead of through Etsy. I was *kind of* mean, but at this point, I mean, come on. And whaddya know, she emailed me back this morning. She told me her tale of woe and how she voluntarily left Etsy for this reason or that. But assured me that my order will ship today, I will have a tracking number by the end of the day. If it was that easy all along, why don't I have my hangers yet?? Wanted to keep you girls updated, I'll let you know later if I actually get a tracking number!

I would contact the credit card company that you used to make the purchase (or paypal if you used them) and dispute the charge.

I emailed Etsy and filed a claim with PayPal. I would, truthfully, just like to get the hangers instead of going through this whole hassle. But, at the very least, I want my money back.

Thats so frustrating! Hopefully you either get the hangers soon or your money back! Good thing you placed the order with plenty of time to get a new one if you have to

Oh no I am so sorry to hear that. Hopefully etsy will give your money back, since this is not something you could control. I was just going to order hangers from etsy today for my wedding in May, but maybe I should wait a bit.

That is crazy I would contact etsy see if they can help at all and I would contact your credit card company and see if you can dispute the charges. That is beyond frustrating. Who did you use on etsy?

I ordered from the same shop! Placed order March 27. Still nothing. If you go on her shop now she has the definition of what 'approximate' means and states she never guaranteed product by seven weeks. What a joke! I ordered new ones from a new seller :(

I just got a response from Etsy that the seller no longer qualifies to be a seller on Etsy and won't be returning to the site. Since I paid with PayPal, there's nothing they can do to get my money back. I paid with my bank card on PayPal, so there's nothing more I can do than to wait until I hear back from PayPal.
Gambigoo - that was the shop. So funny we ordered a day apart. lol. I mean, not funny haha cause I'm really mad. lol.

Ugh, please don't let that deter you from buying from sellers on Etsy. I myself have my own wedding shop on Etsy and I have heard horror stories about other sellers. If you ever need anything personalized (I don't do hangers -- but I do glassware) please FM me :) I'll give you my shop name. I got my wedding hangers, but it was so long ago and for some reason it does not show up in my purchases anymore.. If I find the name I'll let you know!

I favorited your shop on Etsy! LOL!! I'll never let it stop me from shopping Etsy. I've shopped there for years, before planning a wedding. This is just one of those things. The long turn around time should have been a red flag. And Etsy was very lovely in their email telling me they can't help me, lol. I totally understand though. Oh well. Hopefully PayPal comes through.
