European Cruises?

European Cruises?

Has anyone been on a European cruise either for their honeymoon or vacation? We're seriously considering this for our HM, but I want some ideas. What was your experience?

Is July a 'good' time to go?

If you extended your vacation/hm at the end, where would you elect to stay?

Thanks so much.

I went on a European cruise 5 years ago in July. The company has since gone bankrupt, but basically we flew to Barcelona, stayed there for 2 nights, then cruised around the southern coast of Spain up to Portugal and stayed there for 2 nights. If you want to see a few places in Europe I would definitely suggest it, especially since you'll still be able to have a relaxing time. So its really up to you - walk around and go sightseeing during the day, or stay on the cruise and get a massage and stay by the pool. I would love to go on a Greek Isle cruise next! Spain was beautiful and fun and I don't think it rained for one minute the entire time!!!

eogara is going on the cruise I am considering....in fact she may be there right now! It's the Celebrity cruise and it leaves from Barcelona and goes through the Mediterranean. You can stay in Venice for a few days extra...or you can reverse it and stay in Barcelona.

I received some brochures and it looks amazing. The summer months are very popular due to the weather and vacation, therefore making it more expensive. Also August is popular too because most europeans take the month for 'holiday'. It must be great to live in Europe!!!!!

I sailed on Celebrity Cruises - The Millenium. We took a 10 day cruise. We went to Barcelona, France, Italy, Malta and Malorica. It was a great trip. The only thing is that the cruises don't go everyweek so trying to match one up to your date may be tough. FM me if you want, I am a Travel Agent and can send you more information if you need.
