Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

FSIL loves Eve of Milady and I was doing a little research on it....

It appears they are around 4k, is that right? If so its a lot more than what she wants to spend so
Do they have sample sales ever for this designer?

Does anyone know a 'knock-off' (for lack of a better word) designer?

She loves this one:

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

The first dress i tried on was an eve...despite the saleslady warnings that i couldn't afford it (hmph to her)...Omigosh, it was so amazingly beautiful...then she told me it was 4k...ugg...i ended up trying dresses all day and found my dress at david's for under 1k...it was very hard to even like a dress after the eve!!! But my dress is gorgeous (made mom cry)..sorry, i don't know about sample sales...but i can definately relate to wanting one!

I am in love with that dress. But they are a lot of money.

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

I tried on a strapless Eve and I think the price was closer to 3K. Don't know what it is about those dresses but they fit so well and look beautiful. Sorry but I can't help you with where to find a copy of one - I ended up buying a Maggie.

Yeah, they are expensive. My prom dress was an Eve BM dress. It was $200 back in 1994

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

I'm shocked at these prices because my best friend wore an Eve of Milady and it was only $1200! Demetrios is owned by Eve of Milady and they're less expensive but usually have similar gowns.

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

I had a strapless organza Eve of Milady. It was about 2500 after all was said and done at Kleinfeld. Kleinfeld has sample sales, check their website for the dates.

The organza gowns go from 1700-3000 I think, and the satin/silks go for 4-5000. I don't think she has anything above 5000. I tried on a million of them. lol.

Rebecca, Demetrios isn't affiliated with Eve..I think you may be thinking of Amalia Carerra?
That is a less expensive line by Eve of Milady, but the same quality. It's very hard to tell the difference between the two lines because they are both so gorgeous!!

ETA: I agree with the fit. Those gowns are so well made, nothing will ever fit you better in your life.

I keep edited to add more lol.

It's really hard to find 'knock offs' of Eve gowns because she has a very widely known history of suing the crap out of designers or companies that copy her patterns.

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

My wedding gown was EOML I LOVE her gowns. I went to Paradise Bridal and it was about $3,500 and than a friend told me to call Commack Wedding Center to see how much it is there (they give you their own price) so I called and it was $2,000 but I did not want to deal with them so I called Paradise Bridal and told them the price but I wanted to deal with them so they honered that price

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

It's so funny, Eve gowns have this little 'cult' following. After I tried the first one on, I wanted to try every one of them on. lol. But I wound up going back and ordering the first.

She used to make the tackiest most 80's looking dresses, and all of a sudden they are just GORGEOUS.

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

Yes, I tried them on and also ordered one.

Yeah Misty's right about their price ranges, but try a sample sale or even try to buy one at a Eve of Milady showcase at bridal shops.

Yeah try Kleinfeld http://www.kleinfeldbridal.com/ or Bridal Reflections http://www.bridalreflections.com/ has one in Feb. 20-Feb. 23 I remember reading - if you told the one of these places that you found it cheaper they would try to match the price.

Oh, and try RK Bridal http://www.rkbridal.com/ in the City, its supposed to be cheaper here.

Re: Eve of Milady Gowns, anyone have or tried on?

I luv this website..we all think alike to a certain degree.. My gown is Eve of my lady.. I orderded wednesday... Yes they fit wonderful... Yes I did my homework and asked several questions prior to my purchase... amalia carrera is her couture line.. so they are priced higher.. HEr organza and satin dresses run about the same it really depends on the dress. SHe is VERY strict as if you ladies notice you cannot really find her dresses on line... I am curious where the dress posted was found... Mon Cheri makes a good knock off $ 770 as opposed to 3k+ but there is Nothing like the real thing as the material is different... I guess it depends but I really saw the difference in the material..ne more thing it takes long for her dresses to ship so try to make a decision ... good luck

That's right! I forgot about Amalia Carerra. Actually, my MOH said Demetrios as well, but she's known for getting her info mixed up

My gown is EVE, I paid $2500 at a sample sale at Kleinfeld's. However, the gowns aren't actually samples, they are ordered. Eve does have sample sales other palces too, try Bridal Reflections
