Ever Feel like No One Understands??

Ever Feel like No One Understands??

I feel like I am constantly defending myself for thinking one way- or feeling another-- like no one *gets* it..

I am IMing with my MOH right now-- and I was just saying- I am having a really hard time working and concentrating-- hello two and a half weeks til the wedding-- and she thinks that's *weird* and not normal.. Then I have to say-- well, everyone I know who has gotten married has said- the last month before the wedding-- work was hard-- you did the bare minimum, etc..

I am just sick of being accused of being *BRIDAL*... I mean- this is a crazy time in everyone's lives-- with the amount of stuff you have to do, details, emotions, etc. Why don't some people get that??

I have been in the same situation and honestly I cant expect more from people. They wont understand unless they are in the same situation.

Even my other MOH is doing this to me-- and she had a full on wedding-- she is expecting her first baby like any second now-- so, I think she thinks weddings are now 'no big deal'.. Everyone s*cks!!

Just venting...

And the thing is-- I think I am being pretty level headed!!! Considering anyway..

it's sad but true. The month before my wedding I couldn;t open my mouth without being accused of being 'bridal' or 'bridezilla'.
It's annoying.

A lot of people don't understand that coordinating your wedding is like having a 2nd job. As your wedding date gets closer, your '2nd job' starts to take a little more priority than your real job Totally normal IMO.

What you describe sounds very normal. I have trouble focusing on work now, and my wedding isn't until July. Come mid-June-July, I don't think I'll be getting much done. Normally, I'm hyper-productive, so I'm not very worried about having a lull in my productivity.

It's hard when friends don't get it. I have a dear friend who got divorced last year and really does not want to discuss weddings or relationships (unless they are bad relationships, then she can relate). I try to be sensitive and keep the bride chatter to a minimum, but you have to talk about it sometimes.

It sounds as if your MOH doesn't get it, and unless she has been there, she may not get it.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! When my sis in CA got married, I helped with everything from 3000 miles away. But now that it is my turn, she couldn't care less. She's my Matron of honor, I feel like firing her - Trump style! LOL

Yes, exactly. I couldn't even speak to anyone right before the wedding because it wasn't worth the stress they put on me!

ABSOLUTELY AGREE! I have learned a LOT about friend AND family since I've been engaged.

They're all thrilled for me, but they're not into any of the details.
