let me start of my saying i really don't have a problem with my fmil. i do call her 'ma,' so its not like we hate each other. but lately, man, has she been pushing my buttons. so here is my question: if you could tell off your fmil with no repercussions, would you? and what would you say? i think i would mainly tell her to mind her own business, that this is my wedding and she is not my mother. maybe i'm just evil, but i think it would make me feel better to just tell her off. anyone else?

ehh not really. shes a really sweet woman. some of her suggestions are a little old school and are also things that my FSIL used at her wedding (that i dont want to do) but other than that shes been just great.

Well fortunately, mine lives upstate and I only see her a few times a year. The only thing I know of that she has told FH is that she is in shock over how much everything costs. He wouldn't even tell her how much we spent on the dj.

man, then i am just evil.....but i knew i wasn't the only one. to put you in my shoes for a minute, once fh & i are married and we start a family, she wants to quit her job and raise my kids!!! hell no, not going to happen. maybe one day a week, but i'm raising my kids.

I always wondered what my FMIL would be like....Its like unreal that I have it so good!
My grandmother (fathers mother) always gave my mom such a hard time...put her through hell is more like it since she wasn't Polish and my Grandma was also a pyscho! So I always worried that I would have that situation...but knock on wood.. I dont!

Okay....I do love my FMIL and I think that she is an amazing person and is very generous HOWEVER because of her generosity she feels that she now hows say over EVERYTHING this is not just wedding related...
She is a control freak...and for those of you who did not read my thread in BHB... an example of her controllingness:
When I said to her I did not think it was appropriate for her to know the amount of gift we received from guests (something she demanded) and that it made me feel uncomfortable...her reply was:
FINE I WILL JUST HAVE RYAN (FH) DO IT (MAKE A LIST) FOR ME AFTER YOU LEAVE!!!
Yea...LUCKY ME!!
She is involved in everything...and has opionion for everything...and she always knows better..HA! I know deep down inside it is all because she genuinely cares...but sometimes its hard to remember that!

I don't think I should answer this one...I would love to say what is exactly on my mind, but I won't (not like that would cause more of a rift). If I was able to say something to her it would be more about her 'parenting skills' rather than anything about me or the wedding. Luckily FH feels the same way about her, so it's not just an 'in-law' thing.
