what car do you suggest????

thats good on gas?

thats dependable and safe?

and relatively reasonably priced?

I used to drive the Honda Civic and loved it! I could fill up my tank for under $20. I never had a problem with it, just did my oil changes and drove, drove, drove. Now I have a Honda CR-V and love it, in fact, DH has one also. They are fairly priced and great on gas also! I just filled mine up last night for $24. They are equipped with air bags also! Good luck in your search and hang on, everything will work itself out!

I would suggest a Honda Accord. I am sure you can lease one for relatively low monthly payments. I drive an Accord Coupe right now and love it. It's great on gas. My job is 11 miles from my house and I only have to fill my tank once every other week.

And also, I was in an accident with it last year and the car held it's own. I had some soreness but nothing major.

I hope everything is OK!! I have toyota matrix. It is good on gas, and has lots of space which has been great. There have been 0 problems in the 2 years I have had the car. I also had a Toyota before this one and had 0 problems with that as well, so I would definitely recommend Toyotas.

The same thing happened to me this summer! My car was totalled and I needed to buy one in 2 weeks. This was before I was engaged, and I was obsessed with looking at car info online (much like I'm obsessed with LIW now). This is the best site for car info:

They tell you the MSRP on every car, but also the invoice price and what people in your zip code are actually paying for the car. Another helpful feature is that they tell you the 'true cost to own' a car for 5 years - a car that's cheaper now might cost you more in the long run because it's bad on gas or needs repairs more often.

After hours and hours and hours of research, I ended up choosing the Honda Civic, and am really happy with it. The Corolla is another good car, but I didn't look into it because my car that was totalled was a Corolla, and after owning that for 8 years, I wanted something different. The Civic is GREAT on gas (I can go 400-500 miles on one tank, which costs only $26 or so to fill up). The dashboard is scary looking at first, but you get used to it in 15 minutes.

I just saw very good lease deals for the Mazda something (and it's very cute) as well as the Jeep Liberty. You can always get a good deal on a Nissan Altima as well.

Got a Camry Solara over the summer... $3000 down and $317 a month. Gas mileage is about 25 mpg. Lots of space, but it is two doors.

Omg, I'm sooooooooo sorry to hear about this!!!!!! At least it was just your car, these things can be replaced, I'm so glad that you're ok!!!!!!!!

I drive a Hyundai Elantra and I love it, but honestly it's like the unsafest car out there. I bought it before I met DH and he hates that I have such an unsafe car. He wants to see me in a VW Jetta, so when the time comes that's prob what I'm going to get.

Love, Love, Love my VW Jetta Turbo. Reliable, fun to drive and sooooooo good on gas. One thing, VWs are expensive to fix so if you can afford a new one or a cerified pre-owned - its worth it. I bought a certified pre-owned with a warranty ,except that car has had no problems in the year that I have had it. It's annoying b/c you always pay a little more for a certified car. Its like you find yourself hoping for a problem so that they have to fix it. Go Figure!!!

Whatever that Farvagnugen stuff is - its good.

Honda Civics are great on gas, trusworthy cars and very dependable. They're nice looking cars too!

Go to South Shore Honda in Valley Stream and speak to Stefan, he's the best! I got 2 cars from him!
