I was really happy with the ending- Dh of course did not want Carrie and Big together.
I loved the baby thing with Charlotte and Harry. I do agree with Michele that the baby looked big already.
When you adopt a baby from over seas, the baby is never a new born. I think they have to be a year old before you bring them over. My cousins adopted their son from the Phillippines and they had to wait a while. He was 11 months when they brought him home.

Actually - I LOVED IT.
I liked her at first with Alexandr. But what a baby he turned out to be!!! Making her go with him to the museum just to act like she's not even there once they all say he's wonderful, etc.
Yet part of me wanted to say 'Carrie why are you just standing there - go and be happy with him!' Sometimes I think she's just the same way - she wants someone to always put her first and cater to her too. I don't know I think they could have made the breakup a bit more realistic rather than having her get all moody because he stopped holding her hand. Give me a break.
Yet I was happy that she found Big in the end. I missed a few seasons and forgot he became a lot more laid back. I thought them getting together in Paris was a bit hokey. I think they could have made the show at bit more fast paced in the first 20 mins. It just dragged.
Overall, I'm very happy with the ending.

i really didn't like the episode at all. it was all too convenient - Big showing up like that. i never wanted carrie to end up with him - so that kind of disappointed me too.
I didn't think that Big in Paris was conveinant. Last week he told the girls he wanted to be with her (that was more 'conveinant' I thought...him just calling Carrie out of the blue) he wasn't in Paris for business, he was there because the girls said she was.

I love the story arc for Charlotte, Samantha, and Miranda...but I think it was too easily solved for Carrie and Big. I think they could have spent less time on her pigging out in France, and more time on her letting Big have it again, and making him work a little harder than a flight to Paris that is chump change for him. I also think the sex scene for Samantha and Smith was too gratuitous, and would have meant more the character if they showed her being a bit softer with him. I don't think she should have said she loved him...that also would have been too gratuitous. So I think that was dead on.
All in all...I did love the episode..but I want a movie!
And this might be far-fetched....but John rhymes with Ron, who is Ron Galotti..the real life Mr. Big to Candace Bushnell (who did marry someone else, and stayed married to her).

but when Carrie looked up fromthe floor and saw Big...I felt it...I even said to DH...what a great feeling...to be at such a low point...to be so sad...and then to have the person you really always loved (even during Aidan) be there...when you least expected it...
I don't think a fight was called for at all...
then when she tripped him and they were rolling around on the floor...even DH said they were meant to be...they both enjoy the fine things in life...but can have a good time...

I cried a lot during this episode. Especially in the end when she comes in the coffeeshop. I wish it wasn't over.
I think John is a good name. I think any name just wouldn't seem like it fit him.

I totally agree that they were meant for eachother. But it just seemed like after all he put her through...and he did put her through the ringer...it was too fast and easy.

I thought that this episode had a very different 'tone' than most of the other SATC shows. It was VERY serious! I was so thankful when Big - ahem, John, showed up and wanted to kick Alex's butt! I felt the need for some comic relief at that point!
I agree that the writers waited too long to re-introduce Big into the storyline. They could've brought him back while she was still in NY - giving her a tougher choice on whether or not to go to Paris, and then Big following her there would've been more climactic...like him finally 'fighting' for her love...
Chris Noth was on Regis and Kelly this morning, and when they asked him about some of the alternate endings that were filmed, he said that he thought that Michael Patrick King was going to choose the one where Big and Carrie are on the bridge and he tells her that she was 'the one' and instead of kissing him, she says, 'well, it's too little, too late.' and walks away and leaves him standing there.

I loved the ending. I just felt that they tried to wrap up to much in 45 minutes. Maybe its just me I just don't want it to end.
p.s. I am in love with Smith.

I am SO SAD ITS OVER!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOO! I cried and cried! but i'm so happy she ended up with Big...err...John! Like someone else said on here, the name John suits him...after all the mystery about who he was...he was really just a regular guy....I kinda expected a name like Brandon Walter Wisenthal the III or something....lol I was SCREAMING at the TV when Big pulls up next to Carrie as she is looking for a cab and they don't see each other...i remember thinking to myself 'How PERFECT would it be if BIG pulls up RIGHT NOW' and he DID...only they just missed each other...
And that slap was WEAK. Carrie should have taken off her Mahnolo Blanik and Single White Female'd his wimpy ARSE!
OMG...it actually had a perfect ending! I couldnt have asked for anything more...except for MORE! They should have had a longer episode rather than that 1 hr farewell thing before the show...
I keep hearing about a movie??? Is this TRUE? I WOULD BE FIRST IN LINE TO SEE IT!

I really enjoyed the episode and the ending. But I think they should have made the show longer. It felt too rushed to get to the end. I also think that they dragged out her being in Paris. I would have liked to see her joke with the girls for 5 more minutes rather then see her wandering through Paris.
All in all I was very happy though. JUst felt that it could have been a longer episode.

my sisters friend adopted a lil boy from china and he too was almost a year. they have rules were they cant leave the country untill a certain age
