hahahaha...that's not too far from where I grew up, and not too far from where i live now; DH is an Auxiliary PO and got a chance to go to the 'scene'...details soon!

We used to burn coffee grinds on the stove when we had a smelly scene like that. That and a dab of Vicks vapo rub are the only things that mask bad smells.

Can you imagine how bad that must have been in the summer heat?
