Experience with high BP? Help me! UPDAT with Diagnosis!
Does anyone have info concerning high BP? When I was preggo I hand pregnancy induced HBP. And occasionally I would get dizzy spells.
I have been sick and honestly thought I was getting better. Well today I have been feeling nauseous and above my eyes I feel a slight pressure..like a headache coming on. Also my eyes are sensitive to too much light. I cant get into my doc today (half day) but can get appt tomorrow. She said if it gets worst go to the emergency room and she'll meet me there.
I am not pregnant so I am worried right now. I had 3 pickles and have been eating WW food. Do you think this could be from too much sodium. I know you guys arnt docs but any info would help.
UPDATE: I am falling apart. I have been diagnosed with a upper respiratory infection and that can be a reason why I am nauseous as well but I also have Reflux so that doc said could be happening at the same time. And last but not least my pressure was elevated and i am sopposed to buy a portable kit so I can take my pressure. I am sopposed to take procardia but I have take my pressure first to confirm that my BP is elevated. ( I dont have to take it everyday! YAY! So everything is treatable. I have to go to the pharmacy and fill my prescriptions. I hate have meds..and honestly I hate the nasal sprays..they are NASTY.
THANKS LADIES!
P.s DH bought me a carvels ice cream cake AND for some reason it feels so good going down...yum.

Have you had HBP since the pregnancy?

Re: Experience with high BP? Help me!
From your symptoms, it actually sounds like a migraine.. (I have them and that is how they start for me..)
But given your history of high BP during pregnancy, it could be that your BP spiked up (even though you arent preggo) and its causing some bad symptoms
Drink lots of water to flush out your system would be my first suggestion. If you do feel any worse, definitely go to the ER and see if they can correctly diagnose you
Many for you

I know that most of the WW food is pretty high in sodium, but unfortunately i don't know if that would cause a big change in your blood pressure so quickly.

I've had it a few times during the first year after the baby. But usually I get white spots in my vision..no white spots now so I dont know if its even my BP. But the dizzy feeling seems the same...like presure in my head.
P.S I have been eating the WW food since last week.

Definitely take it easy and if the pressure gets worse go to the hospital.
Feel better.
Also are you under a lot of stress. My mother is prone to panic attacks and when she gets them, her blood pressure goes thru the roof and she experiences some of the symptoms you describe.

Oh no - I hope you feel better!
I don't know much about BP but I would say stay away from pickles and any processed food (including WW brand) because they do contain tons of sodium. I don't know what to tell you to make you feel better other than maybe drinking alot of water - maybe it will flush out the sodium. Oh and someone on here told me cucumbers are a natural diretic too.
Feel better

I don't know if those are high BP symptoms - both my parents have high BP and I haven't heard them describe anything like that. However, it sounds an awful lot like a migraine.
Feel better!!!

The frozen WW meals are VERY high in sodium! I don't really have any suggestions except to go to the doc tomorrow. Also, try to remain calm and not get too worked up or anxious about it. My mom has high BP but she's been on meds for quite a while. Let us know how you're doing tomorrow, though!

Re: Experience with high BP? Help me!
Hmmm. Sounds more like migraines to me also. You really should see your doctor ASAP. The sensitivity to light and the type of pain you are experiencing gives me that impression. I have to read back in the post again, but are you nauseous (sp?) at all? Both parents have high BP, but don't describe those symptoms (but they can be different for different people). Best to ease up on the sodium just in case. Migraine can be triggered by food also, so keep that in mind. Try to get to the doctor. If it gets bad, go to the ER. I hope you feel better. Lot's of hugs!

Answered my question. Really sounds like migraine. Don't worry. They have a lot of ways to treat them now. Let us know what happens!

You're eating ice cream with an upper respitory infection!!! You are only hindering your own recovery, the dairy creates more mucous. Yuck!!!
I'm glad that they were able to put their finger on what is ailing you. I hope you feel better soon, and lay off the ice cream silly!!!
