does anyone get their eyebrows waxed in NYC and can recommend a place? I don't want someplace super-expensive but I don't mind paying for a good job. Thanks!

I am super anal about my eyebrows since I have very sensitive skin. I usually go to J Sisters and although its expensive ($40 I think) it lasts a long time and I don't break out from the wax.

Jay Sisters....not sure about pricing. It may be $$$, I have gotten a brazilian there and when I was walking in Gweneth Paltrow was walking out. This was years ago though.

Yes - they do a great job shaping. You should see the girl who does the waxing - OMG, the most unbeliveable eyebrows! They take their time and don't make them too thin but usually a nice arch etc.

The Avon Salon on 5th Ave is awesome for eyebrows. Probably around the same price as J Sisters.

Maria Morava (sp) does a really great job. She has a small office on the UES and is sort of pricey but some great facials and eyebrow waxing/plucking.
I went to her for a few months before the wedding and she really made a difference.
Now Im too cheap/lazy to go back but i definitely recommend her.
