Is anyone getting facials? I never get them, but I am thinking about starting to get one every month or so before the wedding. Are there really any benefits? Can anyone recommend a good place to go in NYC?
Also, is there a particular type of facial I can get? All the options are sort of confusing!
Thanks!

i dont know how long the session is; i got that info from a magazine. she asked for info on facials in NYC. it does seem pricey but then again every thing in NYC is pricey!

Re: Facials?
Wow! But seriously, what are facials for? Are they mostly for if you have oily skin/prone to breakouts type of thing?

Re: Facials?
Bliss in NYC does great facials. Not quite as expensive as the others listed I don't think.

Re: Facials?
I love facials I usually go 2x a year but I have been going more frequently since the wedding is coming. I love AF Bennett in Staten Island. I happened to go there with my cousin and I loved thier facials so even though it is a little bit of a ride it is worth it. I get the AF Bennett facial and my skin feels great afterward. I am not all puff and red after either because after they are finished witht he cleansing they put a destressing mask on to calm your skin. I pay about $75 for an hour.

Re: Facials?
I've been getting a facial a month for the past 6 momths because I wanted my face to be clear and radiant on my wedding day. I have seen a big difference. I go to the Greenhouse Spa and recommend it highly. I would also recommend Vilma who is the head Aesthetician. She's amazing. You can check out their prices on the web. http://www.thegreenhousespa.net/pages/dayspa.html

Re: Facials?
I get facials every once in a while, mostly when I'm stressed. I can see the difference. I go to the LI Nail & Skin Institute it's a school so the trainees work on you. It is a very professional environment. I pay $25.00 for an hour, extractions are $10 more.
They individualize the facial according to what you tell them in a questionnaire, skin is dry, oily, aging, etc.
Although they are not in the city I would recommend contacting a beauty school in the city, and seeing if they offer the same.
Hope this helps

Re: Facials?
I just went for a facial at Away spa in the W hotel on Lexington. It was so great! So relaxing I fell asleep for part of it. I had no idea I would get a mini massage as part of the deal.
My skin feels pretty smooth, too. I'm hooked!

Re: Facials?
My friend is an esthetician and she works at the Village Spa in Roslyn. This is a great place because not only will you get a customized facial for what your skin needs , but you can go with your fh. They specialize in 'couple services' While your getting a facial he can get a massage. Dinner and wine can be included. The best results from your facial will be two weeks after the treatment .Allow time for your skin to clear away any pimples and oil that have been harboring in the layers of your face. The web address is the-village-spa.com ask for Jill the esthetician and Jill the massage therapist , they are the best team there !

hi girls, if you can get facials every 4-6 weeks you'll really benefit, especially to get extractions, thats important. Rain day spa in woodbury is great.
Do you recommend anyone in particular at rain day spa?
