Fake Engagement Ring for HM

A previous post on the 2011 board set me into search mode... Here's a link for relatively inexpensive 'fake' rings to wear on the HM for those girls who don't want to chance it and want to make sure they keep their original regardless of insurance

I still have a while to go before my HM but I know I would feel so weird not having my ring on since it hasnt left my finger for more than a few minutes since we got engaged but it's also not worth wearing it and then having something happen

i acutally bought a fake wedding band and will only wear that on the HM because we are gonna be in the sun, sand and water all the time I just don't want anything to happen to it.

I want a fake set b/c there's no way I'm risking losing it or any of the stones. I know that's what insurance is for but I would be devastated and it would ruin our HM if anything happened to it. We are going to be scuba diving, zip lining, white water rafting, etc etc & I don't want to leave it in the room. Plus, my rings are all pavé diamonds and I don't want all salt water and sand to get in them. I never wear my ring to the beach or the pool when I'm home so why do it on the HM.

I agree with you. It would totally ruin my trip if I lost a stone. It was why I didn't wear my ring to Cancun last week. BTW your HM sounds like so much fun! I always wanted to go white water rafting!!!!! I went zip lining last year in Costa Rico - so much fun but I was sooooo nervous.

On FH's first honeymoon to Hawaii, his ex-wife nearly lost her e-ring in the ocean. He said because of that, I'm not allowed to bring mine anywhere near an ocean.

I never even entertained getting a fake set for any reason. I figure that DH spent so much money on my beautiful rings ... if I wasn't going to wear them then what's the point of having them? Plus I don't think he would be pleased if I wore a cheapo set anytime we went anywhere ... he could have just bought a cheapo set for me when proposing and been done with it.

We insured my rings and I wore them in Europe with no problems.

I would love to never ever take my ring off but you hear these stories of people losing their ring in the ocean etc etc.. and FH spent soooo much on my ring its not worth having anything happen although its insured I dont want to have to get a new one.. id personally rather have the piece of mind that its safe!
