Farenheit 911 movie

Original post by jessnjoey

Sooo much publicity over this movie. DH went last night with his friends and was infuriated after he came home.
He insists he'll never vote for Bush and he is disgusted at what the government has done.

He said it's more about how the administration hid things and terrorists after 9-11, not so much about the trade center.

Now I'm curious and want to go!

Yes there are corrupt officials all over the world- but what does that have to do with us. The United States is supposed to be BETTER than that. Is it OK for Bush and other politicians to be corrupt just because the world is a 'corrupt place?'

Plus- I thought Bush was supposed to be a Methodist 'man of God'.. he certainly isn't acting on it.. I'd rather have Clinton getting his **** smoked in the White House than Bush giving out jobs to every incompetent moron on the planet while Halliburton gets no-bid contracts out the yang.

DH was disgusted with Bush before the movie but i think it really put the icing on the cake!

i do realize that there are 3 sides to every story but what has Bush said to counter the claims??
i would think he would be all over the media denying the film's accuracy. I haven't heard him say one word about it!

I would not base your decision on voting for the president of US on what you saw in a movie... The movie was created by a liberal and there for thats the only view you get... A couple of days after the flim Moore was interviewed by another left wing liberal and confronted him about some of the things in the film... Moore did not like the fact that a liberal like himself could ague with him over the facts of the film... So Moore walked out of the interview on live TV... He looked soo upset when got up that i thought he was going to hit the interviewer...

That's an intelligent statement.

WOW. Saw the movie today...

Nothing I didn't already know, but very well done! I encourage everyone to go see it. I could not stop balling, and I am so happy it has created such a buzz...

i personally would never draw my conclusions from one person, one film, but i am so happy it is spurring debates that should have been taking place all along...

well said. its an eye opener to the point of view we rarely see. the one that our government doesnt want us to see. the one that our government fought to keep us from seeing.

This is exactly how I feel. DH and I did enjoy this movie.

Re: Farenheit 911 movie

I FINALLY went to go see this movie while I was in FLorida. Although I did not hear or see anything that I did not know already, I left feeling good that someone is making people think. It's stimulating discussions that were not going on. I truly believe that many people feel helpless when it comes to the government, and that their opinion/vote doesn't matter. It is very easy to feel that way, especially after the last election. I think that if the only good thing to come from this film is that people are fired up to go and vote, then it has done more than anyone expected.

And on a sidenote...sitting in a packed theater in Florida, I was shocked when people were Booing when Jeb Bush was on the screen and CHEERING OUT LOUD when that veteran in the VA hospital said when he gets home, he will be very active in the democratic party. I mean, all out cheering. It was interesting.

Saw it yesterday and liked it a lot. We got there 35 minutes early and the theatre was PACKED already. There are lines everywhere. It was the first movie I've been to where everyone applauded when it was over. It's amazing how we let them pull the wool over our eyes

I saw it last week... the crowd stood and cheered afterwards, and it was definitely a full house! Folks young and old. Even though the film was draining, the audience reaction was definitely uplifting. Glad to hear something similar happened in Jeb Land!
