I'm not sure whether this should be classified as a rant, a vent or a pity party. Yesterday someone said something to me and it really bothered me...i know i know that i shouldnt think twice about what someone thinks of me but i am one of those insecure people who do. I was talking to a coworker about how i havent hit my goal weight and being that my wedding is this saturday, im a tad disappointed but im more or less letting it go because im so excited to marry Joe. Plus i lost a total of almost 60 lbs so im just glad that all of that weight is off. She turned and said 'Well as long as Joe thinks you're beautiful that day it shouldnt matter what anyone else thinks.' Okay now i do get the point that she was trying to be sincere but this came 2 minutes after a different co-worker told me i shouldnt eat before my fitting (keep in mind it was 2 pm and i hadnt eaten yet cause i was psycho at work). I just felt like shouting 'ok i am not thin but i am not tipping the scales at 500 lbs either.' And even if i was, why shouldnt i feel beautiful on my wedding day? I went to my fitting later that afternoon and stood there in my gown for the first time feeling 'not so beautiful' and i cant believe i let two comments get inside of my head. I am probably overreacting and overly sensitive cause my emotions are all over because im getting married in 3 days but i still thought it was a bit rude.

I understand where you are coming from. This person sounded like they have good intentions,, but their comment was out of context. I think that with your wedding in the next few days you are a little overwhelmed and probably sensitive. You have lost 60lbs!!! That is freaking amazing!! You should do the happy dance in your dress and feel wonderful.
The people who knew you 60lbs ago are going to be SHOCKED at what a hot asss you are! Joe is going to sport some wood at the alter!!
You are BEAUTIFUL inside and outside.

I agree that people should just learn to shut up. but I also think it's your emotions that are allowing you to be offended. I read what she said to you as a positive thing not a negative. Of course, I didn't hear how she said it which makes all the difference in the world.
I am not just saying this....You are beautiful, 60 lbs. is a TON of weight to lose, you will be GORGEOUS on Saturday and Joe's jaw will drop when he sees you. Try to block out what other people say.

oh no dont not feel that way at all- you had a complex when you looked in the mirror for your fitting because you let those two random people get to you- i can relate i lost over 60 pounds my self a little while ago and I still had people telling me oh you better not eat this or that you need to fit into your dress i would just laugh at them because their mentality was so rude and ignorant- when you get marrried in a few days all of that is going to go out the window and you are going to look in that mirror and say wow i am one hot bride- 60lbs is such a huge accomplishment! you will have a beauitful day

I can honestly say . . .you are gorgeous! I just looked at your pictures! You are going to be such a beautiful bride! Congratulations on losing 60 lbs! That takes a lot of hard work! Enjoy every minute of your wedding and be proud of yourself. I am like you. I let things get to me. I know its hard to ignore them, but in this case you have nothing to worry about. Sometimes people say things because they are jealous or miserable themselves. Maybe one of them is trying to lose weight and can't or one is in a bad relationship. Just forget them! You are seriously going to wow your FH and everyone else there!

i think 60 lbs is a great accomplishment and im sure that you are going to wow some people with your weight loss that day - and im sure you are going to wow your fiance joe.....you shouldnt worry about if other people think you are beautiful or not - as long as your FH thinks you are beautiful that is all that matters (thats always what my FH tells me when im having an 'ugly day' )

Being thin does NOT make a person beautiful!! Remember that. Congrats on losing all that weight. You lost a person!!!! You should be very proud of yourself. Keep up the amazing work

Awwww I'm sure that your co-workers were trying to help you out and make you feel good, not bad. Try not to let the stress of the wedding cloud your judgement when it comes to other people and their comments (good or bad). You shoul be so proud that you reached your goal weight... 60lbs is a lot and it's a huge accomplishment and you're going to look so stunning at your wedding. Good luck!!!

Yes...FH made me smile last night when i told him...His response 'I'm going to drop you off a huge bag of McDonalds for lunch tomorrow and i want you to eat it all right in front of them until you feel like you're going to be sick.' He cracks me up. I just cant believe people who im friendly with but not really that close to, got to me.

Re: 'Fat' bride...longgggg
First of all, I think you are such a pretty girl...and I think you were just as pretty before the weight loss.
From what you said, I honestly don't think the first person meant to offend you. She was probably trying to make you feel better and could have embellished on what she said. The other person should think before she speaks. People can be so insensitive. I hate when people tell you what you should or shouldn't eat...I'm sure you're already well aware of it. And, if these people have worked with you for awhile, they should know you well enough by now to know that you are very sensitive about your weight...especially now! I know I would be upset too, but try not to let these things linger in your head. You're going to make such a beautiful bride! I can't wait to see your pictures.

Be a beautiful bride no matter what size you are.
Remember that your future husband fell in love with you when you were 60lbs heavier.
I was and still am a plus sized bride, and I felt absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day. I only cared about what my husband thought, and the tears in his eyes as he saw me for the first time reinforced that he loves me as I am.
