Father daughter dance without a father?

Father daughter dance without a father?

I realistically don't need to worry about this for awhile but it's not the easiest decision.

My father passed away when i was 12. I have a few options as to who would walk me down the aisle but what about the father daughter dance. Would it be weird and awkward if my FH and his mom had their mother son dance and then that was it, move on to the next dance set or something?

Anyone in a similar situation?? Thoughts??

My cousin did this. She had a father/daughter dance but there was no mother/son dance. It was fine.

I have the same situation.
my mother is walking me down the aisle.
For the dance.. we will do a mother son dance and that's it. I don't think I will even bother with the father daughter or trying to find someone to put in the place.. I don't want to spotlight anything.
My mother wanted to have me dance with one brother and then have the other one cut it.. she thought it would be cute.. but honestly.. i feel like they would feel uncomfortable.. And I feel like I would be just highlighting that fact that he isn't here. My father didn't pass away... divorce.. eh.. blah blah. So I think we are going to skip it and I doubt anyone will notice.

Not sure if you are close with your mom but my friend did a dance with her mother. This was a song ( i cant get details if you want ) that was sung by a woman about how today her daughter is a bride. It was cute.

Its totally up to you

I'm in the same position and I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. A part of me feels like dancing with my mother is an obvious fill in, as anything in that moment will be. Its just so depressing to even think about, even the mother son dance will be a reminder of what I'm not going to have.

I have asked my mom to walk me down the Aisle (my father passed away when I was an infant), she says she will depending on her health, but asked that I consider dancing with one of my uncles for the father/Daughter dance, and possibly to walk me down the Aisle.

I would prefer to dance with my mom, but she is hesitant

I am having my uncle walk me down the aisle, but I don't plan on doing a father/daughter dance with him. FH will do a mother/son dance and that will be it

I am dancing with my mom because my father passed away in 2007 and she has been there for me thru thick and thin so she will be having that honor.

it's comforting to know i'm not in the boat alone.

FH also lost his father 9 years ago. I just saw the video someone made to remember her father but i am pretty sure i couldn't go thruogh the rest of the reception if i did that.

Any ideas of how to remember them aside from the memory candle?

My mom actually mentioned awhile ago, even before i got engaged, that she had my dad's blue baby bracelet that she saved and thought it would be nice to put in my bo-k.

I do like the charm photo idea though...

I'm walking down the aisle half way and FH is meeting me and we are walking the rest together. I'm not having a Father/Daughter dance at all. I was thinking of a :'Thank you for everyone who had came to celabrate and have everyone on the dance floor dancing to Celabration by Kool and the Gang,
