I know I have time but I am looking for ideas for useful and interesting favors. I dont want to give people something they are just going to throw away. Any ideas are appreciated thanks ladies!!

I feel like people usually like the food favors. Cupcakes, cake pops, truffles, mini wine bottles and/or a donation.
We are doing picture frames for our photobooth, conversation hearts, and a donation (and giving out to-go boxes for viennese hour but not sure if that counts lol)

THIS! I am def doing food! My mom has 32470927409274 favors in our china cabinet that we NEVER use! People love food!

I did jars of jam from a local farm in Suffolk. I wanted people to know that LI has so much more to offer.
I originally wanted to do wine, but it was too expensive to do local long island wine. If you want to do liquor route, I'd try Liv vodka in baiting hollow.

check out the website and facebook page for the little candy cake- located in huntington village, they are personal friends of mine that custom make solid chocolate mini wedding cakes, custom designed as you wish, in 3 different sizes...you can even do writing on them, which i plan to do for my wedding, and make it their seating cards also...they're stuff is amazing and has an 8mo shelf life

The food is a cute idea. My cousin had cupcakes at his wedding last year.
Another really cute idea that I liked, my friend had cute boxes on the table. Inside she had a little porcelain pot. Inside the pot was a bag of soil, a vile of Forget-Me-Not seeds, and a poem with directions to care for them. The plant grew and I later transplanted it to the garden.
i know people who had coasters at their wedding. my favor will be salt and pepper shakers :)

For our engagement party we gave out little boxes filled with ferrero rochers (my fav) and different kinds of hershey kisses - I think half the guests ate them before the party was over!

We're doing glass mugs with our name on them, filled with chocolate covered pretzels. We wanted something they could keep, but also use. Most people have a random collection of mugs anyway.

Were doing donation favors to the American Cancer society, gonna make a cute little scroll and buy the dark blue colon cancer aweness bracelets. Were also having a cigar roller, frames for the photobooth pictures, to go boxes for the VH and probably so other little things for people to take home.....my mom was like 'you can't do donations as favors, everyone wants to take something home'....which i think is BS, but whatever....
