FH and I went to look at favors yesterday and we really hated everything but found something inexpensive that we will probably get so since we will have extra money left we want to do a donation but because we will be doing an actual favor and donation I don't know how to word the card. Obviously we cannot use 'in lieu of a traditional favor' because we will be having one.
Any suggestions?

What if you just say...A donation to the ********* has been given in honor of those who share this day with us in presence and in spirit.'
- Depending on if its a tribute or not.
