I think its a great idea... given the fact that all of your guests celebrate Christmas. Maybe you could include a note as to the story of the Christmas pickle.

I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way but all I can picture is FH's friend steeasing him saying suggestively something like 'Nice pickle'
It is very cute though - I have never heard of that before and if you explain it in a little note, that would be nice.

If you have a big italian family, then chances are they have a pickle ornament already, bc I believe its an Italian tradition.

yeah its a german tradition.. In Old World Germany, the last decoration placed on the Christmas tree was always a pickle... carefully hidden deep in the boughs. Legend has it that the observant child who found it on Christmas Day was blessed with a year of good fortune... and a special gift!

The First time I heard that Iwas at FH's Grandparents house upstate......His grandfather asked me to find the pickle and I looked at him all weird LOL But then was explain the whole tradition and thought that was cute..... So I think thats a great favor!!!!
