OR

you could tell everyone ahead of time that she's prego, spoil their fun and ensure that it doesn't get announced for the first time at your wedding.

OR

you could tell everyone at the wedding that YOU'RE pregnant. then when they say it they're just being copycats

OR

push her down the stairs.....

....and frame him.

Im impressed Meredith... this post is GOLD!

haha thanks Ang! I have it in me, I just don't always let it out on the boards for fear that people will seriously think I'm nuts....

but I mean it Gina. Tell people ahead of time. If they're going to be douches and not promise to save it for after the wedding then too bad so sad whoops I totally forgot we weren't telling people yet!

I would call FIL's and freak out! I would tell your FMIL that she needs to put her son in check! That is so messed up. What a douche bag

I thought about it but they're so excited to finally be grandparents and as their track record goes they really don't care much about FH or I so I just imagine them telling us we're over reacting by not wanting him to say anything at out wedding.

then let it slip... there is no other way to avoid it. Want me to do it for you? I'll post on your FB wall Congrats Auntie! What a wonderful blessing a wedding and a baby all within the same year....

I think about 2 weeks before the wedding this would be perfect!!!!!!!!!!!

Just say the word

i didnt have to open this to know what you were going to say...

regardless of when they announce it, its not going to take away from your day...

Thanks Ang. I'm just sick of his FBIL never letting FH have 'his moment' He always has to do something to take away from it. FH bought a house, FBIL bought a BIGGER house. We got engaged, FBIL got engaged and married all in the same breathe.

And I probably sound like a whiny brat but it's not like we're asking them to put their lives on hold... they haven't even known each other for an entire year!!! She JUST moved in with him 3 weeks ago!

Re: FBIL & FSIL are...

My brother had this situation at his wedding and it wasnt too bad. She was about 4 months pregnant, she kinda just looked chubby (It was his FSIL)

At my wedding my SIL has just given birth about 20 days before and I cant say anyone gave much of a fuss over her or the baby (they were both there) Honestly when its your wedding day all the things that seemed like a big deal at the time werent.

Re: FBIL & FSIL are...

Maybe post a message on facebook asking her if she found a dress to cover her baby bump a week or two before? harmless. And then just say you thought it was public knowledge already.

OR

Make sure your MC Band/DJ guy knows to cut off his microphone if he begins to start talking about anything other than you and Randy and your love.

OR

tell him you decided just parents will make toasts, no Best Man speech.

I am filling out my DJ paperwork right now... I think I may make a notation on that. Phil is going to think I'm a nut job.

What a selfish jerk.

And you DON'T tell ppl at 5 weeks! She could have just missed her period and assumed she was preggo. There's also HIGH risk at this point. What if she miscarries? Maybe they'll tell everyone at your wedding that 'they lost their baby.' I hate them.

That's what I don't understand!!! Who is their doctor that said it's a good idea to start telling people!!??

They are beyond selfish. I mean I'm not shocked... When Randy told me I was like 'yup, that sounds about right'

No one hates them more than I do!!! Like I can feel my blood pressure go up when I talk about them!!!

What if she is really 10 weeks, lying and saying she is 5 weeks since they have only been married for like a month. And then they will tell people she had the baby a bit early.

When I told Kelley she said she's surprised they didn't plan it so she went into labor at our wedding!!!! LOL!!!! Maybe she really is further along, she's really tiny so she probably wouldn't show for a while.

Same here, dude. I'm thinking about passing over the 'most f'd up siblings-in-law torch to Gina.'

It was a close race before but... they're steadily passing my fkktards.

I am so frustrated and angry by this that I don't even know what to say. All I keep thinking though is you make sure you steal their thunder and annouce this early before they can do it at your wedding.

Before I opened this I honestly thought it was going to say they're getting divorced. But when I saw the preggers thing I thought, no wonder why they rushed their wedding. I'm betting on the fact that she's 10 weeks along and not 5

Also...

And I'm going to be the biggest A-hole ever here and the girls on LIF TTC boards are going to want to kill me... and I am the #1 advocate of being super excited for babies and pregnancy.

But ***... I hope she loses it next week.

They shouldn't have kids.

They will end up divorced a year later.

I will gladly accept this torch and use it to set him on fire if he announces anything at the wedding.

That's my concern.... like I hope the baby is healthy 10 fingers/toes and all that nonsense HOWEVER they don't even know each other, he is a giant doucher and there is NO WAY she's going ot want to stay married to him. He flips out at the drop of a pin and is so selfish about EVERYTHING not even just when it comes to his own brother. The way he talks to his mother AMAZES me and the fact that she LOVES him so FREAKING much I can't understand. There are people in this world who are meant to be parents and those who are not. He is NOT. FH just keeps saying he feels so bad for this kid. The kid is going to HATE him or end up being a complete psychopath like he is. How desparate are you that you need to meet someone and get married right away and then pop out a kid 8 seconds later. I think he's just worried that once she gets to know him she's going to want to hit the road and take his giant house with her and that the kid will keep her there. For someone who less than a year ago was talking about LOVING the bachelor life this is all just INSANE.

Re: FBIL & FSIL are...

Having just celebrated my 3-year anniversary, I know I don't belong on this board. I also know I haven't posted here in a long while, but since I was in the exact situation several years ago at my wedding, I thought I might offer some perspective...

My brother and SIL announced they were pg at the rehearsal dinner the night before my wedding and told everyone who wasn't at the RD at our wedding. They called me before the RD to tell me so I wouldn't get the shock at my RD. At first, I was like 'great, they are trying to steal my thunder' (as they are people who like the attention on them). A few minutes later, though, I realized that wasn't the case at all. They were simply excited about something really important to them, as I was excited about my wedding. I was nothing but thrilled for them - why should I be anything but happy for them? Nothing about their announcement / telling people 'stole' my thunder or took any of the focus off my DH and I at our wedding and RD. My short-lived fears were silly. There is more than enough happiness in life to go around, even on the same day -- and this just isn't something worth getting upset over.

I honestly wouldn't waste the energy being upset over this. There's not much to be upset about. I would just be happy for them and hope they have a happy, healthy baby. No one can steal your spotlight on your wedding day, so don't sweat it. There's enough happiness to go around and people will be able to be happy for both of you at the same time. You will still be the star of the show on your wedding day, so don't worry about that at all. Just enjoy your day and be happy. A few years from now, people will remember your wedding day for being your beautiful wedding day, not for being the day your FBIL and FSIL announced they were expecting.

There were so many little things I got upset over while planning my wedding that just weren't worth the time or energy. It will be a beautiful day, and I'm sure you'll be a beautiful bride.

Congratulations and enjoy this special time in your life.

I will go back into hiding now... sorry for crashing!
