Feedback Burtons at Oheka?- Long

I have posted before regarding Burton's and have only gotten positive feedback. Still - I am so concerned. I was quoted at around $3000 for the basics - bouquets, centerpieces, cocktail tables and so on. And of course - whatever flowers you want in season. I have been quoted everywhere else at $6-$10,000! I KNOW Burton's is the best deal out there and I have no question that they are creative and honest people. My concern is that my arrangements are going to be minimal, small, not full enough. John at Burton's also told me to take pictures of places within Oheka where I wanted more flowers - will this up the price by thousands? I don't know what to do. If ANYBODY has any info that may make me feel better (or worse!) please let me know. Thanks so much-

Jenny, Both of my sisters used Flowers by Bourton at Lands End and Fox Hollow. The flowers were great. The center pieces were not small at all. All of the bouquets looked great. I highly recommend Flowers by Bourton. That is who I am going to use. I looked at Oheka yesterday. It was beautiful!

My contract with Burton's does not state 'In season' flowers only. It says 'Any flowers' . But I think he can keep his prices down for a few reasons: -He does not maintain a huge showroom. -He does not sell to walk-ins so he does not need to keep an inventory on hand. -His mark-up is not as high because he needs less people. When you staff a Florist, like a James Cress for instance, you need to have a large staff on hand all the time. People call and order flowers for delivery, funerals, Just because, etc...Burton's does not have to pay all of those people. He only does wedding flowers. Does that help at all? I added a number of extras to my reception site and it did not increase my total by much at all.

I don't know about Burtons...but with Oheka you need ALOT of flowers...the entrance way...going up the stairs...the different rooms...and the centerpieces...this definitely brings up the costs of flowers...

Even if you needed another 10 arrangements it stilll wouldn't be as much as your other prices. My sis used them and they were great. I think they have been around for 20 or 25 years.

Where is Burtons located? Can you give me an idea of what their price range is for centerpieces such as the pedestals and the bouquets. One place quoted me around $99 for pedestal centerpices, and $155 for a bouquet does that sound reasonable?

Burtons is on Rt. 110 in Melville. Ask for Mike. He seems to be the one that most of the girls like to meet with.
