Feeding vendors at reception - UPDATED -need advice
i am just wondering how many vendors you are feeding at the reception?? & if you would share how much the hall is charging you per vendor.
TIA
update:
i ask because we have to pay for 12 vendors!!!
8 band members & 4 for photo/video.
my hall said 2/3 which would come to $75 per vendor so thats an extra $900. plus i am 99% sure we are going to be 5 people under our guarantee. when my mom asked the other day if we can use part of the 12 people as the 5 people we are going to be short the hall said no.
my parents have been yelling at me about this for 2 days & i can't take it anymore. what should we do?????

Re: how many vendors are you feeding at your reception???
ummm house vendors are free so my DOC and DJ/MC are all free.
I need to feed 2 photogs and videographer then...I think that would be it. I think vendors are half price. not sure...any jt girls know? is it 1/2 or 1/3?

My vendors are all house vendors, so they eat free. Otherwise, it's be 1/2 price.

dj, mc, and video. our photographer said he usually brings his own food, but we have to confirm with him. their cost is half of what we're paying per head for our guests.

that is insane that they wont let you use part of you nimum for them. i would be extremely upset! look at your contract. usually it says something in there about using vendors and kids at full price basically to fufill your mimim and then the other pricing comes into play. thats not right!

i think it depends on the hall rules how much you pay for vendors. I have 2 dj's and 3 photog/videog...they are 100 each!

my hall charges 1/3 off vendors, no matter if they recommend them or not. i think so far this is all i have to feed:
2 photogs, 1 assistant 1 videographer DJ MC
..im hoping thats it!

Yes, you do have to feed them, however most places will allow you to pay for them as part of your minimum. So you would pay full price for 5 of them, then 2/3 price for the remaining 7.
Your hall should work with you on this...and if they don't...tell them their gratuities will be paying for the extra $900!!

Re: Feeding vendors at reception - UPDATED -need advice
I know you should at least offer it, I will be feeding my photog, video guy and DJs. I think my hall is half price for vendors, free if you use in house vendors.
They can also eat during CH, but I think the proper thing is to at least offer a meal, I think a lot of times they say it isn't necessary and will graze at CH.
