We just went over this last night with our caterer. He asked if we want to feed these guys and I said of course, they have to eat, right? He said some people don't feed them. They're giving us a discount, which helps. I didn't even think to ask for a discount, he just offered it. Can't help to ask your caterer if they discount feeding vendors.

feeding them was in our contracts. for our photo vendor .. if we didn't feed them they would charge us $100 per person.

I would say definately have to feed the photo bc they are out with you all day. I have heard of not getting a meal for the band (it can get costly with 9 members) but inviting them to come to the cocktail hour and fill up for the night (their pockets for later hehe)

I fed everyone....photographer and assistant, videographer, dj and MC, and my DOC. But I negotiated a cheaper plate for them instead of paying the per head charge.

I think we feed them at 1/2 price. Unfortunately they don't go towards our count. What stinks is, neither do the kids. And what makes it even worse is we're gonna have a hard time meeting our minimum! Grrrr!!!

Ok...I knew that we should feed our vendors, but my questions is a little different...
where to they sit to eat?
And also, a lot of halls feed vendors at a discounted price and if they are house vendors sometimes they are an even lower price!

Double check...they probably do go toward your count, but at full price. I know that's the case at my hall.

I fed my vendors. I wanted them to be happy and do a good job. ANd they did!

I asked the BM when we signed the contract to book and I'm pretty sure that's what she said. But I'll make sure when we get closer to the date and I have to give them my final count.
