Feeling depressed today...help

Ok so I just got back from a nice trip to Vegas/AZ and should be in a good mood but I am not. I woke up with a UTI and had to call in sick. I went to the doctor at 10 and have been in bed ever since.

Ok some background information...I was on a very tight budget while in Vegas because of the wedding. We got to stay for free bc FH is there for work. In 7 days I pinched pennies and only spent about $300. However I found a pair of diesel jeans I wanted and had a tantrum because I just don't have the money for them. A friend of mine was there and out buying LV bags! I just felt really bad for myself but I got over it.

We also went to AZ to see FH parents which was nice...and bought his wedding band. That ended up costing a lot more than I thought it would. I budgeted 300 but it was closer to 600. Now I do not have enough money to help with the mortgage. I haven't told FH yet...sure he will understand but I feel like a total looser. I just got a HUGE raise at my job but now it is all going to the wedding and I can't help feeling resentful at times. Next week is Vday and I have no money...I am also supposed to have my hair trial and have no money. I just feel so rotten. To top it off I just finished reading 'a thousand splendid suns' which is a really sad story about how badly woman are treated in the middle east. So low and behold I cannot get out of bed today. FH is still in Vegas for work. Wish he was here to cheer me up.

I am a big advocate of 'the secret' but just feel like junk today and somehow need some money.

TAKE IT EASY GIRL.. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR SITUATION MY WEDDING IS IN A FEW MONTHS,, AND ITS CRAZY ON HOW MUCH I HAVE CUT BACK ON COST.. I CANT EVEN REMEMBER WHEN I GOT A MANICURE AND I AM THE TYPE TO GET ONE EVERY WK,,,
I AM PRETTY SURE HE WILL UNDERSTAND.. JUST SMILE AND REALIZE THAT THINGS COULD BE MUCH WORSE...

I'm not getting married until 2010, but every time I buy somethiing (anything) i second guess myself, wondering if I can afford it...should i put it into the wedding fund. I can't stop worrying about money.

I keep telling myself it will all work out in the end. Try to tell yourself the same thing. Its all going to be worth it!

I understand what your going through. I hate going to the mall and not being able to buy all the clothes and bags and shoes I want. I feel like all my hard earned money is going to the wedding. But look at it this way its a small sacrifice to pay to have the wedding of your dreams with the man you love and get to spend the rest of your life with.

Always remember when you feel things are bad it always could be worse. I am sure FH will understand and things will work out in the end.

I hope you feel better soon I'm sure just getting it out and venting on here will start that process. Just know you aren't ever alone in how you feel, I think we all feel like that at some point leading up to the big day!

Thanks guys...you are great! Its good to know I am not the only one feeling bad. I do feel better now, but sometimes I get in a funk and cant get out of it! I finally got out of bed, unpacked, cleaned and took a shower and feel like a million bucks now!

So yeah the shopping thing is hard. I dont think I am going to the mall anymore...its just too depressing. I am actually going to return a few things that I bought for Vegas and never worse...so that is $115 back in my budget! I also need to concentrate on selling my car because that will lift a lot of stress and make my money stretch further!!!

I hate money. It is so frustrating!

I totally feel your pain! Friends are planning a wine tasting tour and want FH and I to come along, but we seriously could use that few hundred bucks to put towards wedding stuff. It does make you feel cranky!! Glad you feel better!

Of course it stinks now, but it is all for the greater good. Saving for the wedding is a good lesson for you and FH

DG and I took some liberties after the wedding ans splurged again! Fdelt good, but being able to pay for the wedding was the best feeling!!!!

I understand how to feel. the pressure is on right now to save save save, but everyone thats gotten married has told me that once its over, things will fall into place and all this stress will seem like nothing.

I LOVE to shop and I can't remember the last time I went shopping for myself. It was hard to do, but i've gotten used to it... I just try to picture the big goals, like our beautiful wedding, buying a house and all the little extravagances don't seem like such a big deal anymore.

and FH and I decided to skip V-day this year. we agreed that whatever we would have spent on gifts and dinner would be better well spent on our honeymoon.

i know how you are feeling. FH and I started our careers just before we got engaged, so every paycheck goes to the wedding. We were able to squeeze in one vacation, but the rest we have to save.
