Feeling overwhelmed?

Original post by jsta76

Anyone feel overwhelmed right now?

I know everyone works at their own pace but I feel like I haven't gotten enough done yet. Then again i spoke to my friend thats getting married in May, only 2 months after me and she was like, what you've already gone dress shopping, I haven't been to one place. That made me a feel a little better.

Ok thats my mini-rant. I'm tired and just about ready for bed. Waiting for FH to call from work to say goodnight, then I can go to bed!!!!

Yeah Fh and I are just booking our hall and church now!! And we plan on getting married in Sept which everyone is telling us (well the BM's at the RH;s) that it is one of the most popular months so I am stressing BIG TIME!

But yup I still need to get hall/church/video&photo/Dj all done by June 27th hahahaha

before FH leaves for Japan!!!!!!

I'm kinda the opposite... I actually feel overwhelmed about everything else in my life right now... wedding planning is one of the only things i'm not stressed about and it's making me feel like I have some control in my life, I'm really weird, lol...

WOW glad to know im not the only one lol...With the wedding planning i feel on top of everything, in control and not stressed, actually its kinda slow now since major vendors were booked and i have alot of time for all the other details...It's all the other things in my life that are stressing me out

I'm with you girls....I LOVE wedding planning and can't imagine what life will be like without the planning. I, too have all my major vendors booked (within 3 weeks!!!!) and can focus on all the little things to make it extra-special. I'm stressed over the fact that I start summer school on Monday...I'll be working Mon-Fri from 8-3 and then going to school Mon-Thurs from 6-8:30 :( Once that is over, I start working a summer program...but that's not bad at all. Anyways, I too find peace and happiness in the planning...

Life without the planning= me being able to keep the $7,000 payment i have to make to Rh this week that could've bought a nice vacation this summer

jk its hard forking over that much money but at the same time i feel a bit relieved paying it off and deducting from our balance lol

Re: Feeling overwhelmed?

I dont feel overwhelmed, well at least not yet. I am doing things at my own pace and loving every second of it.

Dont worry bec I havent gone dress shopping either not BM dress shopping, take it slow, and dont get too crazy, everything will come into place, thats my motto, lol

honestly...im not. its weird. im not stressing it.

i might when i start bookin vendors but i havent done that. im taking it easy.

Yeah me neither. I think because we still have plenty of time. To avoid feeling overwhelmed, i plan on doing stuff this summer. The way i see it, i'm taking three grad classes in the fall (one of them being my thesis class) and I wont have any time to do wedding stuff. So all wedding stuff will have to wait till January. Plus my cousin is getting married in July and I'm a BM, so if i was to wait until January to do a lot of stuff, then i'd start to feel overwhelmed. But since i'm doing my own invitions, i want to start on the like ASAP. I ordered a sample of pocketfolds from online, so lets see what i can do

Re: Feeling overwhelmed?

I think a lot of my stress is because of the whole dress issue.

Everyone keeps telling me, you have just over 9 months, you need to order the dress!!!! You're running out of time.

I'm happy I finally found exactly what I want. I'm just having problems figuring out where to order it. I've probably posted about dress problems enough to drive everyone nuts. Hopefully I'll figure out something by this weekend.

Why dont you try ordering it from Phyllis of Bridal Elegance and Gownfinder. She always gets the best prices, and i've only heard great things about her customr service.

Grr I just finished typing and it said i needed to sign on and deleted my message. I HATE when that happens.

Anyway i'll try to keep it short.

I don't like to be negative about anyone especially since she's a vendor on here, but she said some really nasty things about other dress places and it turned me off. She said another store was ripping off brides by sewing designer labels in and then buying them really cheap from China. I asked on here if anyone had heard about this, but no one had. They had great things to say about the other store. I found it a little unprofessional, and it kinda irks me.

Oddly enough, someone posted yesterday about an ebay auction, really cheap dresses from China. Which makes me wonder......

actually the whole label thing being ripped off the dress has been brought up on here...Idont believe business owners should talk bad about other places but i think in this case its understandable. It is horrible if a store is doing that and someone that is working hard and being an honest business person it pisses them off to see this happening. I didnt go to phyllis but only heard great things about her and how she goes out of her way to help others, so it seems to me she is a caring person and she probably was just pissed off that others are ripping off brides and doesnt think its fair.

If a business is deceiving their customers and ripped them off then sorry they deserve the negative reviews.

Unfortunately from what i've heard, its not true about the store she's accusing. Then again, you never know.

I just know I need to make up my mind soon. I'm calling a third store somone recommended today to see if they can work with my quote.

well don't know which store you're talking about but i do know ive heard about a store doing this...and btw if you are going by what a bride is saying who bought from the store, obviously they are doing it by deceiving the customers so the bride is not supposed to know, she probably has no clue it even happened to her

I thought about RK, I haven't called them to find out a quote but I think it might be inconvenient to have to go to fittings in the city. I work out east, exit 68 and live just barely west of here.

I don't know.
