Feeling sad

Feeling sad

My DH and I have been TTC for 8 months. For the past 3 months I've been on clomid - but so far it has not helped me to ovulate. Now yesterday, my brother & his wife (who I don't get along with at all) call to tell me that they are pregnant. I know I should be happy for them but I am so upset - all I've been doing is crying for the past 2 days. Life just isn't fair sometimes - why can't I be so lucky? Any suggestions on how to get my mind off things for a while?

I'm so sorry you are going through this.

It doesn't really compare, but I remember feeling that way before I got engaged when our friends who had been dating for a lot less time got married first. I wanted to be happy for them, but I just cried and felt bitter. The only thing that made me feel better was thinking about the positive things in my life. A boyfriend who loved me, a great house, a job I liked, etc. Try to focus on the good things and not think about your 'goal' so much. It was when I stopped obsessing about when he was going to propose that it actually happened. Maybe take a break from thinking about it, have a few fun romantic nights and maybe your body will catch on to what your heart wants. Best of luck and lots of baby dust!!!

Re: Feeling sad

Thanks - I know I have a lot going for me that they don't have. I have the most amazing husband in the world that stayed up all night (and yes I mean the entire night - he is finally napping now) with me last night because I was too upset to sleep. I have an amazing job, great friends and a new house. But it still hurts that this is the one thing that I want more than anything and I have very little control over...I like your romantic date night idea

Re: Feeling sad

I totally understand what you're going through. We've been TTC for almost 3 years now.

People that got married after me have or are working on their second already. My gf that got married in August is pg already. I am happy for them, but sad for me.

I just want to send you

Re: Feeling sad

I'm sorry

I understand how you feel.

We aren't TTC- and that is because my DH doesn't know if he even wants to have kids- which is the one thing in the world that I want more than anything..a family.

So I guess- in a weird way- I'm jealous of you- because you have a wonderful DH that wants a family with you... and I don't.

So always think about the positives in life, because it can be so much worse.
