Don't feel sad, Tina. I can also relate. I used to have a really really close friend for liek 6 years. We did everything together, whether it was going shopping, going to bars, or just, 'hey I'm running up to taco bell, you want to come?' EVERYTHING. We had a falling out of a STUPID guy. All b/c she asked what I thought of him, and I had a lapse in judgement and TOLD her that I didn't like him! Anyhow, despite me attempting so many times to fix things, she hasn't be interested in reconciling. I don't really think I was wrong, but I even apologized and tried to fix things... to no avail. That was almost three years ago. I tried to make contact when I got engaged, not to rehash, but, 'lets just forget about it and move on...' She is stubborn. She just got engaged last week, and if FH knew that I sent her a card, he'd be so angry with me b/c he thinks I let ppl walk all over me. So, although I have other friends, I just haven't found that one best friend to do all of these things with, and I'm not sure that I ever will. The bottom line is, I know what its like to feel friend-lonely! I'm with you if you ever want to vent, or drink wine locally!
Thank you!! That is the other part, yes I have other friends, but no one will ever replace my super close ones. I've been picking up my friendship with an old college friend, and we're all friends w/ my NYC friends, but it's just not the same.
And thanks to everyone who responded, sent FM, it really means a lot, and has def helped lift my spirits!!! This is why I could never leave the 08 boards, as my DH would say, you girls rule!!
