Female Usher? Ideas?

Female Usher? Ideas?

I posted this in another thread, but I thought in order to figure out what to do- I would start a new one..

My FH is very close with one of his cousins (all in in college, we are in our late 20's). His parents won't let him have this one cousin as a groomsmen cause they think his two other cousins will be upset, or rather their parents will be. So, we are having them all as ushers instead for a total of 3 boys. I was thinking of having his one girl cousin as a junior BM so she does not feel left out, but essentially- she will be a female usher. Does that make sense?
Any other ideas?

In the JR BM thread everyone said that was too old-- she is 17.. what do I know..

I posted on the other thread as well. I think 17 is way to old to be a jr. bm. JMHO

I totally understand that-- I actually never heard of a junior bridesmaid until I got engaged-- hence me not knowing anything about age ranges, etc.

But, I don;t think she is at the same level as my close friends, and older family members-- It was just a way to include her- Really I want to hear other ideas on what to do, or can she simply be a female usher? If she is too old for a junior BM

A femal usher is a good idea.
Are the male ushers going to be considered 'in the bridal party' I am having 2 ushers, but they are more along the lines of helpers, like the tween cousins who will be handing stuff out. They will just wear regular suits.

We are only doing this because we just have 1 MOH /BM & 1 BM/Usher, so the Reverand thinks the GM needs help seating people, so my brother & cousin will help.

They will not be in the processional.

I'm not sure if they will have bouts.

You can have all ushers where regular suits/dresses & then get then bouts/coursages.

ETA: you can also have her hand out programs or if you are tossing something or using bubbles she could hand that out at the end.

Re: Female Usher? Ideas?

thanks-- so she can just be a female usher. I thought she would like the idea of being a 'junior bridesmaid' but I don;t want to insult her if it is really something for younger girls.. not like she would know..

The wedding is black tie, so everyone will be in tuxes-- I think we'll give them a simple bout, and I can give her a wrist corsage or something= since she will need hands free. We are considering them wedding party- but not walking down the aisle-- they can hand out programs and sh*t like that.

Thanks for the input!

I was an usher at a friend's wedding in college. They had 2 female and 2 male ushers. We weren't considered part of the wedding party, but I think we had corsages.

You don't want to have her as a BM?

We are asking people who are special to us but not in wedding party to act as witnesses for signing the marriage license. They will also serve to hand out programs

I am already having 7 BM's.. I am 12 years older than her and do not feel that she is um, 'bridesmaids level'. I see her on holidays and other family occasions. While I really like her, she is not on par with my closest friends and sis-in-laws. I just wanted to include her since her brother will be, and the other cousins..

I just felt junior bridesmaid was more girly than usher.. Anything else besides 'junior' I can use??
