Re: Fertility Doctors..
I am not a parent but my sister has been trying to get pregnant for a over a year now, she had a miscarriage in late January, she finally went to a specialist a few weeks ago and they said do not put down on any form you are infertile because if you conceived once you will do it again. They also have her taking blood tests on certain days of her cycle, and she started a baby aspirin and progestrine pills today to help her if she conceives not miscarry the fetus. She had a very positive experience. I hope I become an aunt soon! Good luck to all of you!!!

Re: Fertility Doctors..
Thanks guysYes, I am going to a Fertility specialist not an INfertility specialist.
I was told the difference was that since I have had 2 pregancys ( one good and one misscariage) that I am NOT infertile and that I WILL get pregant again ( god willing)
I'm just so impatient,, I want so many more children and I am already 31..
I will let you guys know how my visit goes next week!

Re: Fertility Doctors..
I honestly wasn't aware that there was a difference between doctors who deal with fertility and infertility...

Re: Fertility Doctors..
I thnk they are the same doctors just the treatments are a little different. If you read about it it's interesting.A woman who has conceived before is not considered Infertile.

Re: Fertility Doctors..
Went today to see Dr. Greenfeld at North ShoreHe was very optomistic.
Saw nothing wrong and is probably going to start me on something next week.
He thinks I was having trouble just cause I have not been regular..
I feel a little better.
Just wish I could pop a pill tonight and get pregnant tomorrow

Re: Fertility Doctors..
Just out of curiosity, what has prompted your doctor to begin you on Clomid so soon? I'm just wondering this, because my doctor, and all the research I've done seem to indicate that proper diet, exercise, and vitamins, and in some cases non fertility medications, should be tried before going directly to fertility drugs. It seems to be that this would probably be in your best interest if your only problem is that you have not been regular. Are you comfortable begining such harsh drugs before trying more natural solutions? Being that I am in a similiar situation, I'm eagar to hear your doctor's and your perspective.

Re: Fertility Doctors..
The doctor I am seeing Dr. Rosenfeld is a world renowened specialist that works out of the 'center for human reproduction' at north shore university. His success rate is very high.
I HAVE been trying to concieve 'naturally' for over a year. I am in great health, eat right, take my vitamins etc...
Yes, my problem seems to be that I am not ovulating.. Even when I bought that home ovulator test, I never peaked on it.. I am the most irregular person I know,.. I skip months at a time and then have my period for months at a time
Listening to him.. clomid is the first step, the first thing they give there patients. They did bloodwork at my consultation and I have to go back next week.
I didnt question the clomid because reading about this stuff I sorta knew that, thats what fertility specialist use as there first course of action.
My fiance is a physician and will ONLY let me take the clomid.
It is a very safe drug ( you can read all about it on the internet) There are no side effects..
On the interent it also says that after trying TC for a year a fertility specialist will always start you on clomid.
He told me If I do as he says I shouldnt worry, I should be pregant in the next few months (* unless of course god forbid there was something even more wrong)
I tried the natural thing for a year.. I really did investigate everything I could about clomid and fertility specialist. etc.... this is what they all say to do..
My regular OBGYN had been helping me for the last year as well.. nothing else seems to be working, so I am ready for the next step.
Clomid actually is not a harsh drug at all ( I know it's STILL a drug though) But I'm 31 and want to badly to give my 6 year old a sibbling.
I guess different doctors use differnt approaches with this sorta stuff.. but mine just felt that since I havent really been ovulating the last couple years and HAVE been takeing care of myself that this the next step.
I'll keep ya posted..
Good luck to BOTH of us!
