how long before the wedding should i buy the FG dress?

You can leave it until at least 3 months before I think. Since kids grow so much, before that you'd have to buy it big.

we're ordering the dress for my FG next week, and my wedding is July 25.
She'll be 3 in may and right now the 2 fits big (she's very petite).. but we're ordering a size 3 just to be safe, and will have it altered it its too big.
