FH and the Wedding Budget

He's in that mood again ladies- going through what we have spent so far, estimating what is to come, reviewing what we have saved so far, etc.

I think he has it down to the exact penny

Anyone else's FH do this?????

I try to involve him in as little as possible for this exact reason!!!!!!

Luckily for me.... He isn't so savvy when it comes to money... I am the one who is graduating with a Bachelors in Accounting in June so he leaves the money matters to me! I do enough stressing out about money for the both of us!!!

NO!!! I am doing everything . . . He asks me questions about the money but pretty much everything is up to me.

He just starts to get annoying when I ask him to pay for things.

His head would explode if I told him how much was being spent...he's happily in the dark!

I can totally relate! As much as I want the perfect wedding it absolutely KILLS me to part with my money in such an extravagant way! I always thought I shopped too much and stuff but I am starting to realize I am a cheapo afterall!

FH thinks any amount of money we spend is too much. I say photog/video is going to cost us around 5k and he's like, how about we don't get one because they cost too much. I want a DOC and he says no, they cost too much. Everything costs too much!!

Re: FH and the Wedding Budget

Mine is not paying yet because he just paid off my ring, but he will be contributing starting next paycheck . . . so now he's interested. But, I've already booked everything, so the budget is sealed. We didn't go that far over, and we're spending far less than many, about the same as most . . . . The best thing you can do is show him what others are spending, actual prices, show him that you ARE comparison shopping and bargaining with vendors, and make sure that things he wants don't get booted from budget or cut . . . so long as you're taking effective control and not going hogwild, and respecting what he wants in the wedding too, he has no real reason to get too bent out of shape . . . it is what it is, weddings don't come cheap!!!
