I've had a constant headache since Thursday, the day he changed his mind. FH's family has finally driven him to madness and he doesn't want to do the wedding, at least not now. He wants to have a private (away) ceremony this spring, with a few of our closest relatives and be done with it. He said if I still want the big ceremony, he wants to wait another year or two, to give his family a chance to get over some of their issues. After two major deaths recently, they are in complete turmoil and it's been spilling into our relationship, so he thinks this is best. I guess he's right but I can't help being soooo disappointed. Swan Club and the other vendors are ok with changing the date, but I'm still trying to be.
Sooo...without the ceremony, am I still considered a 2010 bride??
of course you can still be a 2010 bride we're here for you - if the family is going through a tough time and pushing it back is what you think is right then do your wedding when the time is right if you want a big wedding then wait a year, if you want to do the small ceremony then thats fine too, BUT I think you should make sure its what is right for the 2 of you - not whats right for the family - all that matters here is you and FH what u guys want

Re: FH changed his mind about the wedding
You guys can still have a small private ceremony for just the two of you and then when everything settles down with his family you can have the wedding you always wanted. This also gives you more time to plan and save too!!!
And of course you will always be a 2010 bride!!!!!

You and FH need to do what's best for you.......and if holding off the big party for a little is best, then that's what you need to do

Re: FH changed his mind about the wedding
I know we're making the right decision, I'm just shocked I guess. But like you all said, the bright side is with a date further out for the big ceremony & reception, I can continue to save and really have it the way I want, without that negative cloud looming. Now I have to pick another date..good grief!

Re: FH changed his mind about the wedding
Best wishes to you both! You were my date twin!! I totally understand though, we got engaged in October and with an August wedding everything is due a lot quicker. Our 1st real RH payment is due tomorrow and its a lot of money. We only have 2 more after that!!! Scary. We would love to have more time but we don't have a lot of flexibility with my teaching schedule. Keep us posted~ 2010 always!

You'll always be a 2010 bride. The extra time will probably be best -- to avoid anything interfering with your special day. My thoughts are with you!!

Re: FH changed his mind about the wedding
theres only 2 people that need to be at your wedding. you & him. You can always have your swan club wedding renewal some other year. Dont let people get in the way of what you have, GL

Re: FH changed his mind about the wedding
Yes you are a 2010 bride and always will be.
I agree with some of the other posters. You and your FH are the only ones who have to be there to get married. You can always throw the reception at a more convienient time. Try not to let others dictate what you do or you will often be dissapointed.
hang in there
