FH FINALLY SPEAKS ABOUT THE WEDDING

my friend had a destination wedding last month in PR and we couldnt go because airfare is just about redic right now... if the trend stays this way, can u imagine by 2010??? and then to have to give a gift on top of that and pay $$ to stay in a hotel... ill admit, i wanted one myself, but dont expect many people to go... even some of your close friends

for a dw you usually dont get gifts ,... which is fine by me ... i already spoke to my close friends and they are down ... i am only looking to have 15-20 ppl there ... i dont need no more than that ... if more want to come then thats cool ... I only need ppl therre who really wan to be ... its in two yrs they have more than enough time to save money !! Its still too early to say if this si what we are doing ... ill just start to research and in a few months we will decide

You are right... you only need people there who really want to be there, and those that are close to you will at least try to make the effort to go.

I was thinking by having a morning wedding that no one would come and I realized, those that really matter and that think we matter, will be there even if it is at 10:30am.

So i think you should be good if thats what you decide to do!

thanks ... i totally agree with you if someone dear to me was getting matter no matter where it is ... or even if it at the crack of dawn im there ... because they mean that much to me .. so if i mean that muhc to them they will start saving their pennies lol

destination weddings sound so fun. part of me wants one but my family & fi's family would never go for it!!!!!

if you're looking @ the carribean i'd say check out st martin, anguilla or aruba. of all the islands we've visited those are our faves.

anguilla has the most beautiful beaches you'll see in the carribean in my opinion. it's literally like powder.

my friend told me that if guests attend a destination wedding they don't give a gift since paying the $$ to go to the wedding is the gift. i don't know if this is the norm or not (she might be just weird lol) but definitely ask around. i'd never heard this till she said it.
