This why I am TRYING my hardest to get names and spellings right!!!!!

FH things that it is okay to list people by the names they are know by other than their proper names on the invites and placecards!!!

I.E his friend.... Alex proper name Alexander which he used when sending out his STD.....duhhhh FH!!

I think that is so rude! I can't stand that!!!

I got an invitation to my friends wedding and they addressed the envelope Miss _____ _____ and Guest. I was so upset by that. He is a lot more than just my guest!!! He is my FH, fiancé, and boyfriend of 8 years (long before her and her FH even met).

Just put on her invitation to your wedding, Mr. ____ & Wife.

I got quite a few invites with & guest, I just blew it off..

people don't know ettiquette or are too embarassed or lazy to make a call. It doesn't necessarily mean they are bad people.

I know the feeling!!! In April (yes April) we got a invite to a wedding in August....and it said 'Mr. and Mrs. C....'.....we are not getting married until September--an entire month after them. But apparently it was too much of an effort to find out my last name.
We've gone to dinner with them before...its not like I am a stranger to the bride.
I was very peeved!

OMG - this happened to me too!! FH's cousin (male) got married in March, so we got the invitation right around when we got engaged. The invitation was addressed to Mr. Jeff S___ & guest!!! We've been together for almost 4 years!!!!!!!!! They know my name!!!!

And to top it off, they mailed the invitation to FH's parents' house How hard is it to call up FH's mom (the groom's aunt) and ask for our address? Oh yeah, and duh - give the bride my name?

I was sooooo irritated over that, and FH's family didn't understand what the big deal was

I got an invite Mr. Robert... & Guest. And our wedding id 2 weeks after this one. And the funny thing is my wedding inivite went out earlier, so the bride knew my name.

I found it to be rude/ignorant

You need to do whatever you can, and really put effort into finding out people's names, there is no excuse for it. iI you have exhausted all efforts, then you must put 'and guest or fiance'

You wouldn't call them 'guest' or 'fiance' to their face, so why would it be appropriate in paper?

I think that is rude. If they don't know your name they should have called him to ask!

I was invited to a chirstening and the seating card said Rich _____ and Fiance. (This was before I was married) I was like 'wow, that's nice.' She knows my name now. But she should have asked for my name.
