FH is in ICU

Haven't been on in a while, FH has been in ICU since Thursday He has severe pneumonia in both lungs. It started as a cold, then went to asthmatic bronchtis, and a few hours later we were in the ER with pneumonia that spread to both lungs. He is on an oxygen machine that is giving him 80% oxygen; he was only getting 87% without it, versus 98%, but when he takes the mask off his number drops dramatically; he is only getting about 91% now as it is with the machine. He is getting steroids, antibiotics, nebulizer treatmens and albuterol therapy. The DR told him, because he was threatening to sign himself out, that if he left with such little oxygen in his body, he would not make it back in time for them to save him He is trying to be strong, but I think that this has scared the s hit out of him. He is quitting cold turkey from smoking right now and it is tough to say the least. He has some damage to his lungs already from smoking, but we don't how much until the pneumonia clears up and they run some tests, plus his DR wants to make sure that there's nothing else like cancer, or lung disease. He is so miserable right now and I am beside myself. I haven't slept more than 3 hours a night since Thursday and barely leave the hospital to shower and come back; tonight is the first night I am sleeping at home because I got my period there and NEED to rest. FMIL is flying in tomorrow night, which will be a big help. He refuses to let his friends even visit and he won't let me pull up the shade in the room to look out the window because it depresses him so much. I know he will be OK, but he is being so stubborn and can't seem to understand that his life really was/is at risk and that he HAS to stay and get better. I can't give him what he's getting there at home.

Please just say a prayer or send some healing vibes our way--I really need them. Thanks girls
