So, I am sooooooooooooo excited. Fh is moving back to ny in 2 weeks. We;ll be living together for the first time. Do you have any good advice??

FH and I bought our house 3 years ago. I was in school full time and he worked the night shift. For some reason, I felt like I needed to over compensate and do ALL the house work B/C I didn't have a job (even though I paid my half of the bills). This was a HUGE mistake!! Once I started working full time, I realized I was STILL doing the cooking, dishes, laundry, cleaning, etc.
My advice - literally sit down and decide who is going to be responsible for what. It might sound immature, but it'll save you alot of arguments in the future.

Definitely! FH and i have been living together for 3 years and its great! BUT make sure you do your own thing at times and never go to bed mad! Have fun!!!

Ugh the cleaning is thing we bicker about the most. He thinks putting a few shirts away is cleaning the whole house. Ill spend 3 hours vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom, kitchen surfaces, etc... After all that, if I even leave a shirt out, HE says, 'God you cant keep this house neat' Im like, 'I JUST CLEANED THE HOUSE I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO WHATEVER I WANT'!!

My advice is patience and communicate! Talk about everything, even if it seems unimportant, things can mount up! Hope it all goes well, enjoy it!

Ditto! i never realized how much 'chores' we would have...laundary, garbage, dishes, cooking, making bed, changing sheets, vacuuming, cleaning bathroom, ............its hard to divide them up and stick to it, but you got to have patience!

A few:
1. COMMUNICATE - as you get used to each other's living styles, talk to one another, and ask questions of one another as you settle in together
2. DON'T STRESS the little stuff! - where he puts his poster, you want to keep out a fluffy pillow on the couch that is pink, just take it all in stride.
3. As another poster stated - enjoy this time together!
