I know someone that got a decline but there was a giftcard with it. Would you believe she was pissed it wasn't cash? How ungrateful can a person be?

if the person is a close friend then she most likely is waiting until later to send the gift.

Some sent gifts closer (or after the wedding), some didn't send anything, and some that came to the wedding didn't bring a thing ... it's gonna happen, it happens to everyone, and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it.

We had a few people who said no and didnt send anything but a nice note congratulating us with the rsvp card. Some people included a check and many 'no's' have told my fmil they will send an envelope with a family member/friend who IS attending the wedding. They didnt feel right sending it before the actual wedding.

I usually send the gift closer to the wedding if I am not able to attend.

It may be unexpected for him, but according to etiquette, no one is ever required to send a gift for a wedding, even if they attend the wedding. (It's in the Peggy Post book, I swear....) Most people expect to receive a gift, but honestly, I haven't always sent a gift if I didn't attend a wedding, depending on how close I was to the person.
We got a lot of nos, since we had a lot of OOTers. Some sent gifts and some didn't, but most of those gifts came seperately with a card. she might send something later.

cuban bride, you might want to get him ready for what's in store the next couple of months. Atleast this was a no, just wait until people show up and don't give a card, or even worse, no shows no card...

Oh my God you just reminded me I never send a gift to my friend who was married last July and whose wedding I didn't attend. Two of my friends got married and I couldn't attend their wedding as well but I took them out to dinner as a 'gift' since I couldn't be there.

The gift will most likely come right around the time of the wedding!

It's hard but you can't expect everyone to have good wedding ettiquite (sp)
Maybe they will send something later on.

I had one no with money included. There were many guests who replied 'no' and never sent anything.
