FH said he wasn't comfortable officially proposing until he asked my parents for my hand in marriage. I know such an old tradition but he did it today and I was so happy. He told me dad, 'I love your daughter and you're such a wonderful family, I've be honored to be part of your family' I got all teary eyed. Now I'm just waiting for the surprise proposal. We chose a custom made ring and I'm pretty sure he got it already but he's trying to keep it a secret so the proposal is a surprise...

Awww thats so sweet. FH asked my dad too and it meant a lot to me. I know it meant a lot to my dad too, especially since we had been through a really, really rough time as a family when FH asked my dad. My dad was still in rehab after a horrible accident. It was what my family needed- a happy moment! :)
Awwww I'm glad it brought your family (and future family) closer together as a whole. That's what getting married to the love of your life is all about.
Fh asked my parents if they could put music on. My dad even wanted to bring out some champagne!

My FH did the same thing February 23rd was my birthday. February 24th FH drove to NY to ask my parent's blessing. He went to my father's office first. My father is an attorney so FH is very lucky that he was in the office and not at court. When my Dad saw FH in waiting area, FH joked with Dad about forgetting about their lunch date (which they really didn't have). Over lunch FH asked for my father's blessing (and FH told me later on that he almost got choked up doing so). Dad happily agreed and gave FH a hug. Next, FH went to my Mom's office and brought her a bouquet of flowers When FH told my mom that he was going to propose her response to him in a joking way 'Well, its about time' After delivering the flowers FH then turned back around and drove back home to MD to me. All that time I thought he was working late and had no clue about his road trip to NY.
I found all about this the the following night when FH proposed to me at the sight of our first date I'm still amazed at all of his planning
