Girls, this is yet another reason to convince the FH's and DH's that you are the one who should be in charge of all the money Works for me! He always thinks I have something new on, even when it's old, so I have it made! I spent 200 dollars on clothes this past weekend, and he has no clue! And I'm not lying, he just didn't ask, and since I have worn just about everything already, when he asks if it's new, it's NOT!

OctGroom, but what about when you buy your playstation games or whatever your 'vice' is? I don't understand why the man has to approve the budget? I will admit, I spent a semi-large sum of money on a pair of shoes while on vacation, which I bought with my OWN money. FH didn't care, why should he? I'm not trying to be controversial or offend... just honestly wondering!! OF COURSE couple should discuss large purchases, investments, etc. But a $30 hair clip? Come on!... I know, I know, all of it adds up...

I want her to have everything. EVERYTHING!
That's the bottom line and I don't want to be her father. It's not about approval.. but she's never been good at saving and with the Wedding coming.. looking for an coop/condo.
I spend a wee bit on me.
She's had BIG debt and lots of things she's buys go into the closet.. though she does return things now.. she's gotten so much better.at handling all her finances..
but right now.. it's about US.. her and me.. there's no you or me anymore. everything we do affects the other.. and if things build up.. 20 dollar here... 20 there.... that's bad.
We're a team now.
Then again.. 20 isn't so bad.
I just ask that there be a differention between what is NEEDED and what is WANTED.
That's my deal.

Look at what I got this evening. There was nothing else that I liked and it was on sale. YAY!!
Danielle and I still go shopping, and we still save money. We just dont go crazy in the stores, because we know we need our money for the wedding. Danielle is very good when it comes to shopping. She goes to NY and company when they are having a sale and when she has a coupon, only....and she doesnt goto the crazy expensive stores at other times.

Same here. I am not a big splurger.. but when I want something, i don't think twice about getting it.

Again, so jealous of you! but Im a BIG shopoholic and we are not rich by any means so $20 is a lot when its wedding savings time, but guess what? IM GOING TO THE MALL TODAY!
