FH's family is being reeeeeal mature (kinda long)

When we began the wedding process we gave FILs 105 spaces to fill -- we told them invite whoever you want.

FMIL has a HUGE family. On her mom's side she has like 30 cousins. She only invited 16 out of the 30 b/c she had a lot of other people to invite. She invited the ones that she's closest to and that FH has met. WELL....fastforward to now (getting the RSVPs back). FMIL gets an email from one of the cousins that she DIDNT invite saying this:

Jean. I wasnt going to say anything, but it really bothered me and was really rude that I didnt get an invitation to the wedding. I heard money is an issue (okay WHAT??? dont know where she heard this, but money had nothing to do with it ).

Anyway, long story short, because FMIL didnt invite her ENTIRE extended family, all the ones who WERE invited are now ALLLLLL responding NO!!!!! I feel bad for FILs, but more than that, I'm fuming that they had the balls to email her and complain that they werent invited. Its none of their business

Sorry for the vent.....just got soooo mad.

That is so awful! Ya know ppl have no respect. They are only spiting themselves bc they will be missing out.

wow i just can't believe that...this seems to be a sore subject for most people during weddings. people get offended when they are not invited.

so sorry that they are acting this way

are you upset that some of the in laws are responding no now???

Im so so sorry you have to deal with that at such an important time in your life.
I mean like.....what the heck............as I stated before in another post, isnt is so sad that at the happiest time in our life (being a bride and groom) you come across someone in the family thas is just out right rude, nasty and who can care less about peoples feelings-(FMI)-she must be so upset. Dont they care at all about the bride and groom and say, hey its there Day, NOT OURS......sorry again, hang in there, maybe now you can invite others who you would rather have there. Keep your head up, you wedding will be beautiful.....

wow i am soo sorry!! I just hate it when people stick their nose into other peoples business and stir up gossip/drama that is so unnecessary!!! I would be so angry and im so sorry your FH and FMIL has to deal with this now.

I'm so sorry about this - but just think, if they all decide to be jerks and not come, you'll have more time on YOUR special day to spend with the people who matter most to YOU.

I don't know what it is with weddings but they seem to bring out the most childish behavior in people.

Its SO true! Weddings really bring out the worst in people.

To be honest though, FH isnt really upset about this. I'm more sad for FMIL because I know these people are her family and she would have liked for them to be there if they werent being such babies about this.

that is ridiculous!! because one or two cousins didn't get invited, an entire part of the family has to respond NO???? that's like elementary school behavior.....I'm sorry your going through this, sometimes I wonder if people have ever planned a party themselves with the things they pull......sometimes not everyone can be invited, but adults should DEAL with it, not act like babies and send e-mails bringing up money.
