Fighting, fighting all day long...

At first it was perfect - we were wedding planning together and loving it. Now, the smallest most insignificant details cause us to fight with each other like we havent fought in years. I just want to get married, I dont want to do this anymore

my FH and I NEVER fought in 2 1/2 years at all. our wedding is next weekend and within the past few weeks, we fight every day. It's all the wedding stress. we know it will all be over and back to normal afterwards - CAN'T WAIT !

Last week FH commented on how every single fight or disagreement we have had since Oct (when we got engaged) has been about the wedding. In the last few months we have fought more than we have in all of our 4 years combined.

Trust me it will get better (at least I hope so). There's so much going on, you just need to be more patient and considerate of each other right now.

The same thing was happening with us. Do you guys know what sets it off?
Stress is hitting you guys big time! Believe me!

We promised each other, that when we talked about wedding things, that we would let the other person talk, hear them, really hear their side and then respond. IF it was a touchy subject, we wouldn't go on our first reaction, wait a little, let things cool, then talk..

Isn't is amazing that planning a wedding can take its toll on our otherwise beautiful relationships!

I'm with you .. we fight ALL the time lately, and before getting engaged we hardly ever did. Just keep in mind this is only temporary and things will get back to normal once you are married! I know that's what saves me from going crazy most days!

No fights yet - it's been a fun project for us.

It's a miracle. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't start in the next 8 days!

We've been fighting much more than we ever have too. It's either because of the wedding or house hunting issues with us.

But the make-up *** is good.

Yea, I think its the combination of us planning a wedding, graduating college and starting new jobs. Yesterday I said I was glad that I start work on Monday because we really need to start appreciating each other again. We are together ALL THE TIME now and its making us a little more sensitive and picky. Well, he was so offended and really hurt by my comment , its not that I dont love being with him. I just want to be happy all the time.

Are you guys going on a honeymoon? If so, don't tell anyone where you are so you can reconnect - this stress is too much for you!

Can you take a planning break and go out on a 'date'? Just you two, no wedding talk, no friends, no family - just you two.

yes, we are running far away to hawaii - which is thankfully 6 hours behind NY, so we will be hard to get in contact with.

but i think being alone is the problem - we have no family here and all of our friends are gone due to graduation and new jobs. we are all alone

i am sure everything will be better next week when we start working

The house hunting has been worse for sparking fights between us. The wedding was nothing compared to house hunting! Hopefully once we are all settled into our married lives in our homes everything will be better again...

I've heard that fighting is actually not a bad thing in a relationship. I mean just think how boring it would be if there were no arguements ever. The making up is always nice. Believe me you will have arguements after you married. It doesn't stop after the wedding day. I have been married almost a year (next month marks our 1 year) and believe we still have moments, DH gets so worked up over the smallest things and then they always say that women always take one small thing and turn into something big.

Wedding planning is stressful, all of us on the board have been thru it, take my advice when you want to scream or voice your opinion, relax take a deep breathe and speak as calmly as possible every decision does not have to be a power struggle you're committed, so be committed to one another on working things out fairly and logically.

Same here but My FH says he also now has grey hair, trouble sleeping, and stomach trouble too.
Very stressful

We havent started really fighting yet but he is soooo sick of all the wedding talk. Plus his sister is being the biggest pain in the butt and so we fight about her sometimes... isnt stress great?

This happened with us too!!!! ESPECIALLY during pre-cana. We did not get through one day without fighting!!

I don't have much advice except try to make a point of acknowledging to each other that BOTH of you are stressed and that you both need a little extra special care and attention. Try to laugh things off when you sense an argument starting -- that really worked for us!
