I am kind of shocked to hear this coming from MEN!!! Since when are men so into weddings and how 'it looks'??!?!?!?!
Usually men are like WHO are you putting me with-is she ugly, fat, short?
Anyway, I would tell them this much-you don't want to be a part of our wedding and how FH and I want the BP to be, then good riddens! We are not in the 1980's anymore get with the program! This is the way we want it and if you don't like it then too bad. Unless you are coughing up some money to help us pay for this wedding then keep your opinions to yourself!

Well, try to hang in there. My husband was stuck behind with things the way they once were with weddings such as the garter toss, boquet toss. I guess they just dont know better. Did you think of just going back to the original plan of just a MOH and BM? Maybe if the guys have problems with the way you are doing everything that would be best. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through this with your GM, but rest assured, you are not alone. I had contemplated having an uneven number of BMs and GM because my FH is one of four boys (no girls) and I didn't want to ask all of my friends to spend a lot of money. They are all coming from out of state and spending considerable money just to make the trip. His brothers, despite their ages are very irresponsible and I was afraid to count on them for our wedding. There are many issues with them being disrespectful and unreliable. Two of them live in Aspen and think there is nothing more to life than living for the moment and skiing. I talked it over with my FH and we decided to ask his eldest brother to be his BM and my sister will be MOH. Problem solved, or so I thought.

Now my FMIL is asking me bizarre questions such as, 'since you are not having a traditional wedding, are you wearing white?' and 'are you planning to invite FHs aunts and uncles'. Fortunately, this was a joint decision b/w FH and myself and he handled her ridiculous questions. It's good to know we are not alone in this wedding madness.

I totally agree with T - Tell them you would like them to be a part of your day. They knew what it was going to be when they were asked to be a part of the bp and if they don't like it - tell 'em C-YA!

This is your day - don't let these idiots stress you out! It's not worth it. For guys who aren't in relationships, why would they even think that their opinions would make such an impression on you?

Atlast Bride it must be a parallel universe. My fh's brothers are un reliable and irresponsible as well.
I really only wanted a MOH and BM , but I had to be cognizant of FH'S feelings, so we asked his brothers to be in it.

I am so over it now, if they do not like the way things are run they will not be i n it. It is simple as that. I guess what bothers me most is that this type of behavior is coming from family his family.
