when you pay your vendor the final payment on the day of the wedding.. can you pay with a bank check? or is it cash only? what did you ladies do??

I am not married yet, but I figured I would write a check. What happens if they lose the cash or something?? I would rather know that I can stop a check from going through, or something like that, than giving them cash.
I will give them the tip in cash, but not the final payments. I want a record of everything also, just in case they say 'you never paid' I have the check to prove it.
Just ask your vendors what they will accept. If they take a check, then do it that way. Just to save your butt in case something happens.

my hall took eiter a bank check or cash. I would check with your hall just to make sure.

Some vendors will be very specific and say no personal checks, only bank checks or money orders, so check your contracts and the fine print before you make the final payments.

My hall takes bank checks or money orders. They will take cash but prefer not to because she has to get the cashier to count it and lock it up. I guess it's more liability if it a lot of money.

our RH wanted a bank check/cash, our photographer takes personal checks but we paid cash, DJ took a credit card 2 days before the wedding, hair and makeup cash, flowers bank check.cash...
so I would ask your vendors what they wanted for their final payment

Most of our vendors were paid in full by the day of the wedding. We were told to pay the one or two in either cash or a bank check. We chose a bank check because it was too much cash to carry around.

We paid everything prior to the wedding and we paid in cash. As the PP's have mentioned most vendors will only take cash, money order or bank checks for final payment.
