Finally...daddy gives Boy'name' ideas...

So far, John hasnt been much help in 'name' ideas if its a boy...
He doesnt have any name that grabs his attention and he hasnt grasped onto any of my suggestions...

Well so far, he came up with a few, and they were all NO NO's for me
He did this all on his own, when I wasnt even home...
Peter-my sisters XBf - Loser, Capital L !
Jared-cute but not on my list of what id pick
Michael - cute but also not on my list.
Nicholas (Jenn, WITH an H ) and I have always loved that name
So lets see if it 'sticks' or if we keep going with more ideas...
Now I just have to come up with a REALLY ITAlian Middle name
Nicholas

Im trying to do a search of back in 2002 to see if my posts had any other Boy names in them... I know Luke / Lucas / Luca was on my list too (hey 2 handsome babies on this board, Lukie and Nicky ) and I remember that I felt weird using Luke because when I first bought my car, and I wasnt even close to baby mode, I named my car Luke
(But its still a GREAT name on my TOP list, Liz) and daddy likes it too !

Who knows what we'll decide... and we might get thrown a curveball and have a little girl

OK rambling done

Funny, my SIL's boy names are MAtteo OR Lorenzo, so those are off limits
Ive thought of Robert (beleive it or not thats one name I prefer as Robert and not Roberto)
because its Johns middle name, and then to bust his chops I said 'Nicholas Anthony' LOL.

HOW FUNNY that you said ROCCO !!! I Said that yesterday to John, he just gave me A LOOK I LOVE those old fashioned ITalian names...
Out of the blue I Said 'Nicholas Rocco' and he just looked at me like I was crazy
Ahhh, hearing me scream in labor will get me ANY name I want.
Of course he joked back with what about 'Nicholas Homer'

Jenn, I forgot about all those really Italian names. MORE MORE !

Re: Finally...daddy gives Boy'name' ideas...

Lauren, I CANT use Saverio, its a name my mom has always used to say 'joe shmoe' in Italian. maybe its a saying. almost like saying 'tom, %ick and harry' she's always said 'franscesco e saverio' (Are they ITalian celebritieS??)so it would be too comical in my family

Nancy, GOOD LIST. I LOOOVEE Luciano, but will save it as the feminine version (Luciana) for a girl. Johns not crazy about Luciano. and I wouldnt waste it as a middle name

I was also going to do Gianluca (since hubby is John and Luke is one of the names we like also) but 'Gianluca' doesnt sit too well with him DARN, these non-Italians
and now that my son is John Anthony, I dont want the 'George Foreman' thing going on
MArcello is also a cute name, but my sister had Marcella on her 'girl list' since her last pregnancy .

thanks for the website

DARN, these non-Italians

HEY! I am only Italian by injection!

I just try to go along with it. I actually like some Italian names and in Buffalo I don't think that I would have to worry about anyone else in our baby's class having the same name.

It is kind of funny because my husband mentioned Rocco and I looked at him like he was crazy!

MY FIL expects us to name our first boy after him...Gaetano. I am not too sure about that either. But we may go with his 'American' name Thomas because it was my father's name as well.

I like the following:

Nicholas Aurelio
Nicholas Roman
Nicholas Giovanni
Nicholas Dante

Aurelio and Roman are both on my first name boy list for if there is ever another baby. I love the Italian names.

I will definitely agree that you have a couple of GREAT names picked out. Are you sharing your girl names?? Or is it already Luciana?? You could be having a daughter you know!! Isn't that wild? After having a son, wouldn't it seem funny to say daughter? I can't wait till you have the baby

Tell your SIL I vote for Matteo, I love it.

Good names girls
Liz, I think we're pretty set with Luciana unless I change my mind at the last minute

I also like Alyssa and we've mentioned a few others... But with Luciana, I always had the middle name Alessandra in mind, and my MIL's name is Sandra, so that would make her happy. I know Liz, it wILL be funny to say daughter

It was strange enough to have a CHILD of my own period

How about Nicholas Liborio?

anna Posted:

Re: Finally...daddy gives Boy'name' ideas...

Liborio? Is that a name?

I also like some more names
Marco
Andrea (John this its too feminine, in Italy its a boys name )
Alessandro (will be butchered, I know it)

I love the name Luciana.

Re: Finally...daddy gives Boy'name' ideas...

I was about to ask how people will butcher Alessandro but there will always be someone who will have some confusion even with the simplest name so I know what you mean. I like Alessandro alot though, I dont think it would be too often that it will be misprounced.

Re: Finally...daddy gives Boy'name' ideas...

Im sure John will find it feminine somehow and Im sure it will somehow become Alex. or Sandro (I knew a Sandro years back, and im just not crazy about that name )
